Professional Organizations
There are many things that I would look to obtain from a professional organization in the field of health care that disseminates certifications for clinical research. One of the most valuable of these is a network of like-minded professionals who can help to guide me in virtually all of the stages of my career. Anytime one has become a part of a professional organization (especially one that issues certification credentials), one has immediate access to that most useful of resources -- people. Whether attempting to obtain help in actually earning a credential in the area of clinical research, or to network for additional career opportunities and sources that may be of aid in conducting clinical research, such an organization is invaluable because of the knowledge of the professionals that populate it. In many instances they are willing to share their insight and to help others in order to further…...

The American Public Health Association has 28 different sections, each dedicated to a specific branch of health care, some examples being chiropractic, aging, epidemiology, law and mental health. Within the framework of these sections, the APHA promotes dialogue and advocacy, conducts research and produces publication with the objective of improving the state of health care in America through its programs (APHA, 2014).
The hallmark event for the APHA is its annual meeting, where members can attend from 1000 different roundtables, sessions and panel discussions. At the annual meeting, upwards of 5000 papers are presented as well, making the meeting the single most important event for medical practice in America. Looking at these, it is not difficult to find sessions that interest me. One such section of interest is Food & Nutrition. The food and nutrition section is focused on dietary considerations, and has the mission of providing leadership and to…...

The Public Library Association (PLA) vs. The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)
oth the Public Library Association and the International Society for Technology in Education were founded with the goals of knowledge sharing and community enhancement in mind. The PLA was founded primarily as a member's only organization for librarians and similar personnel who were interested in promoting the goals of national library services, which includes the aspiration to disseminate information to the public. Much like the PLA, the ISTE was founded to promote education and knowledge in the field of information technology. oth organizations focus their efforts on the community. Spreading diversity among the community has become a priority for both the PLA and ISTE. The primary difference between the two organizations is their focus; while the PLA focuses on spreading knowledge through library services as a whole, the ISTE concentrates their efforts on promoting knowledge about…...

Joining Professional Organizations
The significance of professional organizations as far as career growth and professional development are concerned cannot be overemphasized. One of the important benefits of joining a professional organization is that it enhances one's professional network. For anyone aspiring to climb the career ladder, building professional relationships is crucial. Joining a professional association enables one to connect with their peers, particularly during events held over the course of the year as well as discussion boards and chat groups. Connecting with peers facilitates the sharing of ideas, keeping up with developments in one's profession, as well as mentorship.
Joining a professional association also increases one's exposure to career opportunities. Professional organizations often have job opportunities reserved only for their members. Being a member of a professional organization is, therefore, a great way of finding job vacancies in one's field of interest. Furthermore, most professional organizations provide career resources to their members,…...

Hospitals and other healthcare facilities observe patient experiences for assessing and improving care quality. As nursing professionals devote considerable time to their patients, they greatly influence patient experiences. For providing patients with superior quality healthcare, nursing staff must identify influential factors in the nursing environment. Patients' experiences in the care setting are recognized as markers of care quality assessment and improvement. When patient experiences are gauged by healthcare facilities, outcomes may be utilized to achieve improvements in internal quality. Practitioners employ information on patient preferences and experiences for adjusting their practice and visibly contributing to patient health outcome improvements (Kieft, de Brower, Francke, & Delnoji, 2014). The concept of "translational clinical research" is now a key priority area for national research enterprises. It possesses an explicit mandate for swiftly delivering scientifically-developed prevention approaches, cures and therapies to the masses (Hastings, Fisher, & McCabe, 2011).

Professional Organization for Nursing
In the past, a number of individuals inside every society started delivering care and nutrition for all those who had been struggling to look after themselves. Because these people became 'care specialists,' they started to express to other individuals the procedures that helped them and also to train other individuals as apprentices who would probably at some point continue their function. The advancement of contemporary nursing starting from some sort of vocation, towards the profession and discipline of nursing, started during the later part of the 1800s when Florence Nightingale stated her perspectives on the way nurses ought to be taught and schooled and just how patient care ought to be offered (Hegge, 2011).

AANP Evaluation
Questions to AANP
What is the possibility of a U.S. NP working in Europe?
A number of European States can be classified in the primary nurse practitioner level and others in the advanced nurse practitioner level. Every time nursing positions are open, they are usually filled by locally available and trained NPs or even APNs. Global nursing role is presently not at the level where one can easily shift from one country to another in order to practice.
Is there an accredited NP program in Asia (India)?
In India, only one institute comes to mind, which provides a Masters in Nursing; however, it is not a Nurse Practitioner Program and no other institute exists that offers such programs, at least not to my knowledge.
The benefits to members
Grant opportunities and scholarships, encouraging NPs and the development of the NP profession together with the APN community.

Organizational Recruitment
Recruitment Failures for an Unnamed Retail Giant
The quality of a professional organization will be deeply and directly contingent upon the quality of the personnel that it employs. Such is to say that a company's success begins with its recruitment strategy, where the manner in which it shapes and conveys its demands to applying candidates will be critical to the screening and vetting processes. It is this recruitment strategy that will determine not just who a company hires but, indeed, who among its employees are likely to become long-term assets or to advance within an organization. For the purposes of this discussion, we will consider the recruitment policies of a leading global retail chain. For proprietary reasons, we will refrain from identifying this firm by name, but the discussion will demonstrate how negative recruitment strategies can be connected to poor public image performance and a poor record on working conditions.

Professional Networking
Networking is an important vehicle for knowledge sharing and to stay abreast of news and trends about the IT industry. Professional networking can occur both online and offline. Networks such as LinkedIn and InsideTech are free services that make it easy to connect online. Offline, there are quite a few organizations whose sole purpose is to facilitate networking for IT professionals such as myself. With so many options available, how does one choose which networks will provide the most bang for the buck? This paper will address the benefits of joining a professional networking organization within my industry vs. using free networking tools such as LinkedIn. I will also explore the value in joining membership-based professional networks and provide my opinion on whether or not the benefits exceed the costs.
The table below illustrates the various networking groups and how they stack up based on my selected criteria. I am…...
