Nightingale Model
Describe - choose something you learned from chapter 1-5- "What did I do, read, see, hear?

One concept that will be instrumental in my development is the nightingale model. This model provides insights into proper service to both clients and patients. Both of which will be needing in a changing health care landscape. Aspects such as the Affordable Care Act have provided expanding coverage to millions of Americans nationwide. As such, the need to provide individualized, premium service will be become paramount. Three aspects that I read about, that I believe, will be essential are:

Environment of patients

Need for keen observation

Focus on the whole patient rather than the disease

The report of Meade states that: "it is clear the findings reveal that discharge follow-up phone calls provide an invaluable opportunity to evaluate patient education, identify trends that may require improvements in practice, improve patient quality of care, determine patient's compliance with discharge instructions and access overall impressions of hospital performance." Nursing Future in 2021
Nursing has not changed greatly for decades. Nurses now have more freedom than they did two decades ago, but nurses still provide the same care they have for the past century. This has been changing with the advent of nursing master's programs that are allowing registered nurses the opportunity to become more specialized in fields of their choice. A nurse can choose from many different nurse practitioner specialties to become more engaged in their field. Nurse practitioner programs allow nurses to be more involved in decisions that are made regarding patient care, so that the nurse becomes more responsible. Ethical Compassion in Nursing

hat personal, cultural, and spiritual values contribute to your worldview and philosophy of nursing? How do these values shape or influence your nursing practice?

The role played by the nurse professional is highly consequential to the health outcomes experiences by patients. This means that the nursing profession must be highly regulated by clearly defined and positively reinforced ethical provisions. These provisions are given by the ANA Nursing Code of Ethics and, in my personal experiences, are imperative as a way of dictating how we, as professionals, are expected to engage patients, required to relate to colleagues and trained to respect human dignity. Nursing Theory Application
Case Study Overview from the viewpoint of a new EMT -- Patient was a 78-year-old mail presenting breathing difficulties. Patient had early stage cancer with a DRN bracelet and note. Patient's wife was aware of the DNR, but her natural reaction was to try to save her husband. The call, then, was more to assure the wife than the husband, who accepted the situation but was still distressed.

The modern nurse must then be willing to move beyond a simple catch-all of medical jargon and bureaucracy and become someone who is both supportive and critical of the system. What are the core concept definitions of each nursing model? Are there commonalities between the models? If so, what are they? What are the differences, if any?

The core concepts of each nursing model is of course care for the patient as well as improvement of nurse.

Evidence-Based nursing for instance tries to better the nurse by placing review and analysis of research material and critical thinking as base.

Jane Watson's model too, calls for greater motivation and vigor in nurse's practice by using a spiritual approach where nurses see patients as per a holistic whole. Neuman (1995) used systems theories in arguing that people are a system that strives for stability whilst the most influential model in the UK based on Roper at al (1990) describes the person as functioning along an independence/dependence continuum throughout his lifespan

The scope of the nursing profession has increased dramatically over the last thirty years. She graduated from her first nursing program in 1921 and her career was at its apex in the 1970's as she was one of the more prominent authors of nursing textbooks through the 1970's (and before that dating back to the late 1950's). She was a research associated at Yale until she died in 1996. She died that same year at the age of 1998. Basically, her career was active in some form for nearly seven decades but it was highest in the middle part from the 1950's to 1970's.

Educational background

Virginia Henderson started her medicine career after she graduated from the United States Army School of Nursing in about 1921. She later received her bachelor's degree in 1931 and her master's degree. Her Bachelor of Science as well as her master's from Teachers College at Columbia University.

Theoretical-Empirical Structure (CTE) Evaluation of the oy Adaptation Model
There are a number of valuable outcomes that can be achieved using conceptual models, theories, and empirical indicators for advanced nursing practice, including the application of models or theories to real-world nursing practice, research, and education. To develop some first-hand experience in this area, this paper examines how the Conceptual-Theoretical-Empirical (CTE) structure translates into nursing practice based on the oy Adaptation Model. A translation and application of this theory to nursing practice using actual examples is followed by a summary of the research and important findings concerning the CTE structure and its implications for nursing practice in the conclusion.
