Talents aren't things developed. One is born with talent -- a natural propensity for accuracy and efficiency in particular tasks. A knack for a certain intellectual task. Skills, on the other hand, are things learned, practiced, and known; they're the result of schooling, training, and experience. I believe that skills can be thought of, in a sense, as the theory behind reality. In other words, skills are most appropriately consolidated and built upon one's talents, and one excels at his profession when he marries the two. Conversely, one is pushed into mediocrity when she doesn't use her skills to flex her talents.
I've done the opposite. Through my formal education and my three years of experience as a retail manager at T-Mobile after graduation, I've built my skills -- creating innovative solutions to traditional problems, strong leadership capabilities, and customer care -- upon my talent -- business intuition. In other words,…...
constantly endeavor to better myself in both my personal and professional life. My choice to pursue an MBA reflects this continual effort of self-improvement. Having already obtained a Master of Science degree in Information Systems on top of by Bachelor of Science in software engineering, I spent the past six years in the computer industry. My current position with Interpro Software, a consulting company, is rewarding and reflects my educational background, but I am ready to approach the tech industry from the business end. One of my immediate goals is to help Interpro grow, through effective management and organization. I already have the technical skills with which to assist my company; now I seek business know-how. Therefore, an MBA degree is indispensable in achieving my short- and long-term goals.
Working for a start-up company like Interpro has introduced me to the importance of effective business management. A developing company requires…...
ROTC
Describe career aspirations and how successful completion of the MBA program will relate to my goals as a military officer / ROTC. What do I expect to learn, and how will I apply that knowledge? What specific benefits do I anticipate?
My military experience has and always will be the most important influence in my life. Being a soldier taught me what true leadership entails. Through my participation in the military, I have learned that leadership is not simply telling others what to do, but setting an example others can follow. It has taught me to motivate others in a profound and powerful way. It has taught me the value of having a sense of mission in the leadership I offer. When a leader is clear about the direction in which he or she is heading; the reasons for the mission; and the goals of the enterprise, this invests the…...
laptop on the tray table in front of me. Business class roominess is so much more conducive to getting work done, I think, as my spreadsheet application opens. Legs casually crossed in front of me, cranberry juice at my side, I review my work on the company's financial statements. It's been a great quarter for my pet venture, which I launched just a year ago. It hasn't been entirely easy but once I received my MBA from the University of Florida, my career mushroomed. After working for many years with such prestigious companies as Shell and Motiva, I launched my own business venture based on the knowledge and skills I gleaned over the years. Looking down at the vanishing earth beneath our airliner, I reflected on what it took to get me where I am now.
In 2001 my first big break arrived when I landed my first position with…...

Education is a crucial component of success. Both personal and professional development is a critical aspect of becoming not only a better businessman, but also, a better person. As such, an MBA is a necessary step in my personal development process. My extensive background has created a strong platform by which to continue this development. Within the document below, I will aim to address my extensive professional background, why it is applicable to an MBA degree, and why these skills will not require a GRE/GMAT assessment.
My previous experience in a management capacity has provided skills that are well suited for graduate study. From my previous experiences in the social service, management, and customer service fields, I am well prepared to handle the fast paced course load of an MBA program. Apart from my solid undergraduate performance, I have acquired practical experience through my various internships and work experience. I believe…...
admired staff members, Babar Butt, for your MBA program. Babar is a focused, creative problem solver who communicates well with colleagues and customers. We appreciate Babar at Bismil Inc. For his ability to anticipate the needs of customers, organize sales, and motivate staff members.
Bismil Inc. is one of the largest authorized retailers for T-mobile. As a manager for three Bismil Inc. stores, Babar has doubled monthly revenues, and contributed to the overall success of T-mobile in the region.
One of Babar's greatest strengths as a store manager is his ability to quickly internalize characteristics of new product lines, and to anticipate customers' needs. He then articulates product selling points and trains his team to present the products in exciting ways. He also shows unusual intuition of various markets, and a seemingly infinite amount of creative ideas.
As a business planner, Babar's attention to detail is impeccable, and his organization skills admirable.…...
goal is to attend an MBA graduate program in accounting. This degree will provide me with the depth and breadth of knowledge that I require to achieve my career goals. I strongly believe that I have the academic potential, and more importantly, the determination and strength of character to succeed both in graduate school and larger society.
I feel that strong, educated, and ethical accountants are needed more than ever in a business environment that is still reeling from alleged improprieties of firms like Arthur Anderson's in the Enron scandal. My experience as an accounting major at Temple University has given me both a deep and abiding love of the profession, and a strong desire to make a contribution to the field of accounting. An MBA will give me the invaluable skills and experiences that I need to make a contribution to the larger business world.
An MBA program is well-known…...

pursued my undergraduate degree in Accounting at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, I experienced a revelation: that success is within my reach, and if I can achieve prosperity despite the obstacles placed before me, then anyone with a blend of luck, desire, and character can do the same. Of course the luck aspect is what makes life unfair; the painful reality that no matter how hard some people work they will not have the necessary opportunities or innate talents necessary to achieve their dreams. This was an especially significant realization because of my unique global journey, and the fact that my brand of luck came from the most important person in my life -- my Mother.
When I was a (high school?) student in a tiny town in Pakistan, my Mother gave me the great honor of choosing to gamble her entire life savings on…...

MBA (Master of Business Administration) is generally regarded as a ticket of financial success and individuals who graduate from one of the top ranking universities are always being paid the six figure salaries. The MBA Decision
1. Ben's age affects his decision to get an MBA because the MBA increases his annual earnings. The incremental financial benefit of the MBA will amount to more money, the longer Ben's remaining working career is. Thus, the younger Ben is, the more benefit he will get from obtaining an MBA.
2. There are some nonquantifiable factors that Ben may wish to take into account. For example, he might look at his current family situation – he may have a baby on the way, sick parents, or some other factor that might cause his to delay the MBA or to change his plans to go away. He might be able to work with his current company to achieve an MBA part-time, which would allow him to obtain the degree without career disruption. Ben might also want to examine if the MBA supports his goal. Because he wants to be…...
To be surrounded by a growing network of highly motivated, curious, and ambitious peers in the LBS MBA program is the goal foremost on my list. Subsequent to receiving my degree, I most want to work with an investment firm with a fresh organizational culture. As challenging as it may be to find a firm supportive of young entrepreneurs, I am dedicated to helping a company that is interested in taking calculated risks to incur higher returns, while still maintaining diverse portfolios. Working in post-Brexit London will prove especially stimulating, as I am curious how the market is recovering and what theories and paradigms are shaping investment decisions now. My long-term goals are to create a venture capital fund, which is why I intend to engage directly with the LBS Capitalist and Private Equity Club. The clubs speaker series provides ample networking opportunities throughout the year, and also the chance…...

Journey
Who knew that BA studies would be so rewarding? This essay summarizes my learnings, both personal and professional, during the course of studying for a aster of Business Administration post-graduate degree.
In the course of reflecting on program learnings, I discuss acquiring or improving the following skills:
How to thrive in an online environment.
Communicating online with good manners.
Reading and writing analytically.
Team building and problem solving skills.
The class that I found most valuable was BUS 530 Project anagement, which sharpened my critical thinking and organizational skills.
y critique of the program includes the following criticisms and observations:
There was not enough networking with fellow students.
Some classes lacked audio lectures.
Developing advanced writing skills was challenging but worthwhile.
Faculty input was helpful.
Small class size was helpful.
Reflecting on self-learning I found:
I am now more comfortable taking risks.
I am excited about facing future challenges.
Program Learning Reflections
As I look back on an BA journey which began two and one-half years…...
mlaMore than anything else, I credit my MBA journey with helping me be comfortable with taking risks. I received my undergraduate degree in 1974, and for one reason or another, was not able to start graduate school until more than 30 years later. By that time, I questioned whether I had the right stuff to acquire an MBA. Would I be able to balance school with my job and personal responsibilities? What tradeoffs would I have to make? Would it be worth it? Could I keep up with the pace? What if I changed my mind half-way through the program? Could my brain absorb all that knowledge without exploding?
These were the questions I pondered before deciding to attempt an MBA. I admit that the questions kept recurring even after I started taking classes. At some point though, I knew I was going to make it. Along with a sense of relief, I felt my confidence building, understanding that it is indeed okay to take risks. Having experienced doubts and uncertainty along the way just makes success that much sweeter. And having taken a while to achieve a long-time goal just makes me eager to take on the next challenge.
Deciding to venture so far outside my comfort zone is paying dividends in other areas too. I find that now when I'm faced with the unknown, I have fewer self-doubts and more enthusiasm for the task ahead. With MBA in hand, I am about to begin a new chapter in my life, and I could not be more excited. I am going forward to meet my future with newfound leadership and management skills.
pursuing an MA degree at this time in your life? What characteristic about Pepperdine's program made you decide to apply to Pepperdine specifically? What expectations do you have of Pepperdine's MA program?
In this ever shifting world where the only constant thing is change, with the gradual rise and fall of business and economy and the stiff competition among professionals, one must be able to value what quantity of knowledge he has attained and acquired. It is at this point in time wherein individuals must consider all necessary aspects and phases in his life and career. It is at that instance to broaden the horizon in terms of wisdom and education. I maintain that timing is everything in all of my endeavors.

Hagenback, the commander of the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division, was responsible for leading an offensive attack on al-Qaeda and Taliban forces that were located in the Shahi-Kot Valley/ Arma Mountain region near Zormat in Afghanistan. It can also involve harassing behaviors. Sometimes cyberbullying behaviors are criminal, and sometimes they are not. Cyberbullying can occur on social media, in emails, by text or DM, in SMS, in games, in forums, and in a....
That sounds like an interesting essay, because Swift’s “A Modest Proposal” is so-often held up as the prime example of satire. Would be a fascinating read, especially if you are arguing that “Huck Finn” offers a more effective use of satire. Here are a few ideas for essay titles.
If you want to find out arguments about infectious diseases, we are tempted to tell you to visit almost any social media site, where you are almost sure to find people debating the efficacy of face masks to slow the spread of COVID-19. However, the reality is that you actually want to avoid looking at sites like that if you are trying to develop a good essay about infectious diseases because internet arguments notoriously fail to follow the steps to developing a good argument. You want to make a claim, provide support for that claim, and address....
