These tasks allowed me to use the financial analysis skills I gained during the course of my education. I was able to uncover errors that were being made and alert my superiors so that the problem could be rectified.
The experience was valuable for a couple of reasons. For one, it provided me with a framework for the functional application of financial analysis. I learned much by poring through both the financial and managerial accounting figures. I focused on determining efficiencies, and was successful in making improvements in small ways.
I gained considerable experience in front line business as well. This acts as a complement to my academic background, because it puts that background into perspective. At Ming Feng, I gained a real appreciation for the way business works in the real world. It was a step into the old Hong Kong for me, away from the glass towers, but at…...
HSBC is one of the world's largest banks, and it has the third-largest market share among UK retail banks. This massive global footprint supports a differentiation strategy that is encapsulated by the "the world's local bank" slogan. HSBC plays to its strengths with a presence in many major markets around the world, but its strength in retail and commercial banking belies a relative weakness in investment banking.
The banking industry is highly competitive. In the UK at the retail level it is in an oligopoly state. The company also competes among the global banks of the world, which is a business more in a state of monopolistic competition. It has a differentiated strategy, which is loosely based on a broad geographic scope and customer service. The latter is a difficult area in which to differentiate. There have been some problems with the geographic scope, too, and HSBC has recently left both…...

It is highly unlikely that they would become involved with illegal activities knowingly. However, the complicated nature of compliance risk and the high expectations within the banking industry make it possible that some legal manner might be overlooked.
Chief Compliance Officers are at particular risk due to the nature of their position and should be increasingly diligent to maintain a proper understanding of the expectations of compliance. Additionally, Chief Compliance Officers and the operations department should be aware of the current weaknesses within their own AML programs.
In an effort to minimize these risks, HSBC Bank USA has recognized the need for more purposeful measurement and management of compliance risk.
Legal and operational risk can quickly and efficiently hamper the activities of any bank. However, it is reputational risk that poses the greatest risk to HSBC Bank USA. Banks that are associated with money laundering, terrorism, and criminal activity in the media…...

Microeconomics is the branch of economics concerned with the behavior of individual entities such as markets, firms, and households. Analyzing HSBC Bank through the lens of microeconomic theory involves examining how the bank makes decisions about resource allocation, pricing, and strategy in response to market conditions and regulatory frameworks (Mankiw, 2014). HSBC, being one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world, offers a rich case study for microeconomic analysis.
The fundamental concept of supply and demand plays a central role in the operations of HSBC Bank. As a provider of financial services, HSBC must balance the demand for loans, savings accounts, credit facilities, and other banking services with the supply of funds available to lend to consumers and businesses (Krugman & Wells, 2018). Interest rates are the price of borrowing money and are dynamically set by HSBC based on the banks objectives, liquidity requirements specified by regulators,…...

China's 2001 accession to the World Trade Organization has been regarded one of the country's most significant moves as far as its integration with the global economy is concerned. According to the author of the article I analyze in this text, one of the most significant consequences of the said accession "was the transformation of China's financial sector." From the onset, the author of this article correctly points out that over the years; the need for an overhaul of the Chinese financial sector was rather obvious. This is more so the case given the inefficient way in which loans were being extended by lenders. Indeed, the only way China could save its financial system from imminent collapse or stalling was through the opening up of its banking sector. In the words of the author, "immediately upon accession to the WTO, China's banking sector began to open to foreign banks."…...

Corporate banking services that are provided by HSBC focus on collections management, financing, foreign exchange, global markets, Internet banking, payments and cash management, trade services, and others.
In addition to this, HSBC provides services regarding trade and supply chain that can be used by the Acme Company in order to increase the efficiency of its supply chain management in South America and Asia. HSBC also provides several services that multinational companies can address in order to manage their business accounts. The bank also focuses on developing foreign exchange solutions.

here are some things money can't buy, for everything else there is MasterCard."
In today's society, the value given to education, acquired through formal education and application of knowledge, is priceless. his is because knowledge serves as the foundation in familiarizing an individual to his/her chosen field of expertise and profession. Knowledge is especially important in advertising, since most of the ideas conceptualized in this profession are primarily based on facts, information, and experiences that have a profound application in advertising.
ake as an example the 'advertisement' I created above. Although the theme is patterned after VISA MasterCard's famous ad slogan, "here are some things money can't buy, for everything else, there is MasterCard," the body of the ad…...
mlaThe MasterCard's ad example is also similar to the HSBC (Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Corporation) "Local Knowledge" campaigns that have been advertisement in print and TV media. In the HSBC ad, particularly the HSBC print ads, the company illustrates how it is important, in the age of technology and capitalism, for business institutions to be knowledgeable about a nation's culture, since it forms the core values, attitudes, behaviors, and actions of the society. Using the slogan, "Never underestimate the importance of local knowledge," HSBC highlights different aspects of culture that can be found in nations within the Eastern and Western societies, using examples from the U.S., Germany, Indonesia, India, and a host of other countries that have distinct business cultures. Through visual images of elements that depict differences in cultures (for example, chopsticks in China and fork in the United States as the primary food utensils used in eating), HSBC effectively bridges the gap between new technology (world-class banking in the 'world's local bank') and human societies, be they old or new (societies) ones. In effect, HSBC promotes not only the banking industry, but also commits itself in the social responsibility of promoting cultures and societies all over the world. The HSBC ad mainly extends the message that through knowledge of the world's cultures, business is conducted effectively, which is the "HSBC way."
Two concrete examples highlighting HSBC's extraordinary print ads that centers on societies' cultures are found in two issues of TIME Magazine, dated June 2 and August 4 of this year.
In the June 2, 2003 print ad, HSBC illustrates three different kinds of 'delicacies' favored by nationals of three countries: China, Mexico, and France. For China, chicken feet are considered a special delicacy, grasshoppers for Mexico, and snails in France. These exotic delicacies are used to illustrate an aspect of each country's culture that is necessary and vital for its people: food, one of the essential needs and commodities of people in the world. The caption after the graphic illustrations of the chicken
Jobs
Gazing at the Seoul skyline for the first time after graduating from the University of Massachusetts, I felt the pulse of metropolitan life and the whispers of change taking place in my life and in the life of the city. It is because of this pulse that I am applying for a job with HSBC, one of the world's most reputable companies. I had lived in Boston for the past several years and soaked up all the experiences I could while I was there. When I returned to Korea I realized that the world had become so linked because of globalization that companies like HSBC made inroads in nations far beyond their own borders. I also appreciate the world of commerce and banking, which I believe are at the root of how whole societies change and grow.
I too hope to change and to grow through exciting opportunities working at the…...

In the case of Great Tools Ltd., GGG still has control over the subsidiary. As such the parent company retains the right to upgrade the overall property, plant and equipment of the Great Tools Ltd. Within the AASB standards, the paragraphs regarding control are very clean. The standards specify the reason and methods in which an investor can initiate control over an investee. In addition, the statute also discusses how these requirements are determined. For instance, paragraphs 6 indicates the investors control an investee when is has the ability to materially affect the overall returns of the investee through its power. This could include exposure and involvement in the overall returns of the investee. As the case illustrates, GGG owns 70% of Great Tools Ltd. Therefore, GGG, has the undisputed ownership of the subsidiary due to its overall exposure and its power over the actual investee (AASB releases new Code…...

China's Rise: The strategic Stake
While we have so far discussed the positive economic impact of a growing China from the perspective of Australia, there are also some concerns about China's growing stature and the changing strategic balance. As a communist nation, the U.S. And its allies including Japan have always viewed China with caution. China has repeatedly claimed that it is fully committed to peaceful economic growth as Zha Peixin, the vice president of CPIFA (Chinese people's institute of foreign Affairs) stated, "China will stick to the peaceful development, opening up, and building a harmonious society domestically and promoting a harmonious world internationally." However, the recent arrest of the Australian mining giant Rio Tinto's executive officer in China over charges of espionage has created some friction in the relationship. The recent issues involving Australia granting of visa for Rebiya Kadeer, the human rights activist from China, much against the Chinese…...

Crime
Three Perspectives on Crime
For decades sociologists have debated the causes of crime and criminal behavior and have created three sociological perspectives involving the cause of crime. Schmalleger identifies these three perspectives as Individual esponsibility Perspective, Social Problems Perspective, and Integrated Perspective. A discussion of current criminal activity can easily identify cases in which each of these perspectives can be applied.
The Individual esponsibility Perspective defines criminal behavior as the result of individual personal choices. According to Schmalleger, this perspective states that individuals are ultimately responsible for their own behavior and that some individuals choose to engage in criminal activity as opposed to following the law. HSBC is Europe's third largest bank and in 2013 it agreed to pay a $1.9 Billion fine "to resolve charges it enabled Latin American drug cartels to launder billions of dollars…." A thorough and comprehensive analysis of the Operational Impact of EMV implementation
In order to mitigate the various threats faced by the Iranian banks while implementing the EMV standards, it is necessary to conduct a thorough and comprehensive analysis of the impact that such a move would have on the general operation of the Iranian banks as well as their internal processes (OVCMarketing, 2010). The internal processes are to be reviewed in terms of the operational and business aspects. The review will ensure that all of the changes to the organization's internal process are appropriately addressed as a move targeting the overall implementation of the plan. Such a move is expected to impart positive momentum on customer service strategy which is equally important under the new EMV environment. The move would then…...
