They moved to Fingerbone take care of the girls and reminded the girls every now and then about the lives that they had given up and left behind for the girls' well wishes. Both these characters are cleverly depicted so that they are kind and amusing at the same time, and their absence is not missed. The conversations between the aunts and the sisters were designed to be one of a kind and extremely funny. However, these two don't seem to be cut out for the job, taking care of two girls seems to be a lot for these two. They are weighed down by the responsibility that comes with it, conjure up almost every frightful situation that they could about the circumstances they might face and end up running back to their comfortable lives in San Francisco, after luring a mysterious relative in the form of Aunt Sylvie…...

Sexual Harassment in the hotel housekeeping department by Oliveira and Ambrosio is an exploratory paper on the incidence of sexual harassment of hotel housekeeping staff in Portugal. The idea of the paper comes from the case of the harassment of a maid in New York by a French politician. This makes the topic of the paper both timely and relevant within the larger context of both human resources study in the hospitality industry and in studies of sexual harassment. The study appears to be unique, particularly as it focuses on Portugal. The authors were able to determine that a high number of housekeepers at hotels in Portugal have experienced some form of sexual harassment. The authors further determined many critical factors that contribute to the high rate of harassment.
The authors' work helps to build a body of knowledge about the subject, and can be used in conjunction with other similar…...

Outsourcing' -- What is it?
'Outsourcing' in a hospitality context means hiring outside contractors to do the work ordinarily done by departments in your own hotel. According to Vitasek, 'Early outsourcing helped companies realize balance sheet improvements, access lower-cost labor and often improve productivity'. Because of these advantages, outsourcing continues to be practiced in hotels today, and newer and better models for outsourcing have been introduced as well. Clearly, outsourcing is here to stay: the practice has been steadily increasing in the industry every year (Yetzer 2010).
Impact of Outsourcing within Hotels
Outsourcing is an issue of great debate in the hotel industry. Some hotel employees feel a sense of loyalty to their hotel and may see outsourcing as a sort of intrusion on their turf for the benefit of saving money. This can lower morale in the workplace. Others can understand the value of outsourcing and accept it as the wave…...

62), a society with "shallow-rooted" norms (p. 177), a "meager and difficult place" as opposed to the expansive way Ruth wishes to grow as a woman. (p. 178) Helen's storm inside, this mother's crisis of identity, has parallels not with Baldwin's women, but with characters such as the Reverend Henry, whose anger at hite society can only be expressed in a eulogy over his beloved son's casket. Extremity in both the apparently placid Henry and Helen brings forth rage and despair, but while at least Henry's male rage is life-affirming, urging his community to go on in the face of the death of a young person, Helen's actions are regressive, infantile, returning to her father, and do not occur as an act of social protest.
The gendered constructions of mourning and identity formulation for Helen's daughters Ruth and Lucille also indicate the limited repertoire the Housekeeping society provides for women…...

Locker Construction
Statement of situation: To manufacture 60 lockers with the IPA to help facilitate ease of use and access for workers and business patrons.
The use of Good Housekeeping and Organization to help smooth the progress of the overall installation of the lockers within the IPA. In addition, the GHO guidelines will help ensure a smooth installation process to better reduce unexpected building costs.
Financial Benefit: Less employee to employee theft within the IPA. With lockers, employees and patrons now have a safe and secure location to place belongings or items. In addition, the lockers can help reduce storage costs associated with bulk items in use within the IPA. Lockers can ultimately increase worker productivity as equipment is stored in a single, secure location. Workers who otherwise are forced to store items in sporadic areas throughout the IPA now have a convenient point of access for important work materials. This will help…...
Personal Statement: Radiologic Technology Program
To me, there is nothing more fulfilling and exciting than being part of a team that alleviates the suffering of others. Unknown to many, mostly those serving in other professions, working in the medical field has its own unique challenges. It is the realization that mine is a unique role - a role that involves helping others -- that motivates me to keep working in this noble field. It is this same reason that motivates me to become a radiologic technologist. In addition to matching my skill-set, the radiologic technology field does, to a large extent, match my experience -- spanning over seven years in a healthcare setting. In the final analysis therefore, successful completion of the Radiologic Technology Program at GAMA will be a logical step towards the further development and enhancement of my career in the medical arena. Indeed, professional growth in the medical…...
Financial atios From Income Statements:
Accounting in hospitality management is carried out to identify and document financial issues and produce information regarding an organization's assets, liabilities, and investments. Through this process, the management of a hospitality establishment understands and interprets financial ratios, which are crucial for basic control of operations in the establishments. Some of the most important financial ratios in hospitality accounting include average daily rate, occupancy percentage, room sales to total sales, cost of food sold percentage, profit margins for rooms and F&B, housekeeping cost per occupied room, and cost of beverage sold percentage. These financial ratios can be determined or worked out from a company's income statements or operational data (Casado, 2006, p.103). For the 310-room hotel in Costa Mesa, California, the Occupancy percentage is 7,755: 310 = 25.02%
Cost of labor percentage for rooms is 103,202: 437,433 = 23% for F&B is 113,349: 302,188 = 37.5%
Cost of food…...

The prosperity that came with the end of the war continued into the new decade. Americans attempted to settle into a life or normalcy. There was a significant return to traditional gender roles, as many women were forced back into the household and the men went off to work as usual. Women, now used to providing for themselves represented a new target market. To fill their days they read the "seven sisters" (McCall's, Ladies Home Journal, Cosmopolitan, edbook, Good Housekeeping, Seventeen, and Women's Day). These magazines began to dictate…...

5. It is difficult to develop international careers in the case of dual careers couples. I think it depends mostly on the type of careers of the people in the couple. Technical jobs are the most flexible types of careers. Technicians can adapt professionally in any country. But jobs that depend on countries' cultures are less flexible. These can be jobs in marketing, certain types of management, jobs in culture, education, advertising, and others. Therefore it is important to determine the flexibility of the job, the differences between the same job in different countries, and the importance of these differences (Brislin, 2008).

These research methods adopt different instruments depending on the suitability of the event.
In the following situations, decide whether you would use a personal interview, telephone survey, or self-administered questionnaire. Give your reasons.
In the first scenario, it would be appropriate to use self-administered questions to reveal the underlying issues concerning the research questions. This is because the target population is large. The experiment seeks to uncover extra information to supplement the research question. This makes it crucial to adopt the use of self-administered questionnaires during the study. The second scenario would require application of personal interview or self-administered questionnaires. This is because the geographical coverage of the study is appropriate for any of the two options or research methods. The third scenario would allow the company to maximize the benefits of telephone survey in seeking to unveil the reasons behind the research questions. This is because the geographical arrangement of…...
