Atlanta International Airport Is the Busiest Airport
Pages: 6 Words: 1719

Atlanta International Airport is the busiest airport in the world, serving 80 million passengers and employing over 10,000 people. The Operations Director must ensure that all of the process, procedures and organizational structures enable the airport to be efficient, effective and always improving. This paper will discuss the Atlanta Airport in the context of its operations management success and will also work in an example from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as well.
Allen (2009) outlines the transformational model as a set of seven variables that need to be aligned for a business to be successful. The seven variables are environment, strategy, culture, core processes, systems, structure and results. The core processes at Atlanta International Airport include baggage handling, aircraft maintenance, air traffic control, security, designing passenger flow, passenger information systems, loading and unloading the aircraft and providing information and basic services.

Atlanta High Rise Office Fire
Pages: 3 Words: 824

The occupants might have suffered panic yet most of them were able to think properly and they made three groups. Yet, one of the female occupants was so terrified that she jumped of the sixth floor and was seriously injured but she survived. (Jennings, 1989)
After proper technical investigation, the following points were enumerated as the lessons to be learnt by the accidental fire at the Peachtree 25th Building:

Automatic sprinklers are necessary for high rise buildings. Although experts says that even the automatic water sprinklers might have failed to prevent or restrict the severity of the fire, yet they also suggest that automatic sprinklers might have helped the fire fighters to fight against the extreme high temperatures and it would have also helped the occupants to evacuate the building with much more ease.

Evacuating high rise buildings during emergency often takes more time than evacuating drills in similar conditions. It was…...

Atlanta Exposition Address 1895 by
Pages: 5 Words: 1483

The rhetoric of fear is operationalized by illustrating the dangers in treading to a 'new ground' -- that is handling black American independence from slavery and prejudice.
For the white Americans, Washington provides a threatening scenario of the capacity and power of black Americans to create destabilization in the American society should emancipation and establishment of an egalitarian society fails to become a reality in the country. While fear induced from the black Americans stemmed from the fear of mishandling the new and free black American society, fear induced from white Americans is the same kind of fear that has been used by black American propaganda leaders like Malcolm X, which cites violence as one of the possibilities or consequences that may happen if black Americans does not receive the independence that they deserve to have. Inducement of fear from the white Americans is stated in the speech as follows:…...

Midterm Memo Assignment: Atlanta Participatory Budgeting TO: Recreation Department City GovernmentFROM: Joseph M.DATE: 15/06/2022SUBJECT: Participatory BudgetingParticipatory budgeting is a system where the public is involved in decision-making on how public money is utilized (Williams et al. 2019). The local citizens are usually allocated the monitoring and scrutiny roles following budget allocation. How participatory budgeting worksIn participatory budgeting, the local officials present the budget to the public with various particular allocations to the local investments. After that, the citizens can discuss and agree on the priority projects to be sorted and funded first. After that, the local population takes responsibility for implementing and monitoring the activities endorsed during public participation. One of the benefits of this approach is that citizens can contribute even through text messages on mobile phones (Williams et al. 2019). Symbolic Meaning of Atlanta City
Pages: 3 Words: 1075

) The transformation of the persona is a reflexion of the very transformation of society. Atlanta is the big scene hosting these developments.
As a symbol of the south, Atlanta represents the life philosophy in which the color of the skin is directly connected with the construction of the social persona. All the lack people were slaves and treated as if they worth less than the white ones. In this regard Scarlet is a relevant example. Several times she thinks to herself that black people are unworthy: "How stupid negroes were! They never thought of anything unless they were told. " (Mitchell, 89) or "How dared they laugh, the black apes!...She'd like to have them all whipped until the blood ran down...What devils the Yankees were to set them free!" (Mitchell, 120)

There was a clear division of society in the old south, with the blacks being denied of their human rights…...

Sherman's March From Atlanta to
Pages: 9 Words: 2448

Sherman had waged a strategy of avoiding military engagement, instead "waging a battle against its civilian society. "The south must be ruled or will rule," he is quoted as saying, "We must fight it out army against army, man against man." While the south's forces were preoccupied elsewhere, Sherman had successfully made the psychological strike required to break the psychological thread that held the south together by way of southern pride and philosophy. "He intended to make the people 'so sick of war that generations would pass before they would again appeal to it.'"

That Sherman received the people of Savannah as a host in their own city to grant favors, and allowed the city government to go about their daily business proved the confidence Sherman had in his strength of force and the power he now wielded over the southern city on the sea. While some residents of Savannah held…...
