Self-plagiarism is taking your own words and using them for credit in more than one place, like for two separate classes. An example of self-plagiarism would be writing something for English class, turning it in to your instructor, and then turning in a copy of that same paper for Philosophy class. Even if you only use parts of the paper or change the wording around, it's still self-plagiarism because it's too close to the original document. In order to avoid plagiarizing yourself, write original papers for every class, every time.
