Weight Loss And Obesity

¶ … obesity in young adults has led to efforts to circumvent the problem. By understanding what may cause obesity and testing out methods that can help obese young adults lose weight, researchers hope to find a viable method that can lead to positive changes in health. Thesis: Young adults experiencing obesity may suffer from mental health problems triggered by lack of healthy habits like excessive sitting, lack of exercise, and unhealthy eating habits. Some offer weight loss solutions through the use of social/mobile technologies. However, no one strategy has been found to be effective in creating successful long-term weight loss. Research suggests that young adults with obesity suffer more from psychosocial than physical health problems" (Dreber et al., 2017, p. 1). Mental health problems must be addressed in order to help combat obesity in young adults.
Conclude with potential new direction for research to help solve the problem of obesity in young adults. Potential inclusion of a 2016 study for consideration in supporting the novel approach.

Summary

Summation of articles and discussion of ongoing obesity epidemic.

Obesity has become an epidemic in recent times with children, teens, and young adults experiencing obesity at an increasing rate. Methods to help combat the issue has led to inclusion of social and mobile technologies like calorie counter apps and social media inspirational images.
