This was quite an interesting post on the importance of the planner's position in delivering the big picture to connect plans to goals and guidelines very interesting. Your statement that planning is an effort of establishing hope and faith in humanity is actually pretty inspiring. I was likewise encouraged by the emphasis you placed on mutual accountability and hesed as crucial factors in successful planning.
In examining the concept of hesed, I came across a verse from the Bible that I believe applies to the idea of planning with mutual accountability and care. In the book of Philippians 2:4, it says, "Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others." I believe this verse perfectly captures the essence of hesed and the importance of planners valuing the differences between people and working together in a spirit of mutual care and accountability.
Moreover, you pointed out that covenantal leadership and the importance of developing people is crucial to planning. I agree that a manager is only as good as their team, and it is essential to select the right people to reinforce a team that is directed at getting participants to care for one another and be accountable to one another. However, your emphasis on servant leadership and the importance of empowering participants gave me pause and helped me to realize that it is especially important to be a servant leader so as to have and maintain that covenantal relationship between planners and participants (Setiawan et al., 2020).
Based on your post, I will probably do some further exploration of the importance of including the community's voice in planning and how planners can better involve the community in the planning process to establish a more meaningful relationship. I believe this will help to promote a spirit of teamwork and mutual accountability and produce better outcomes for the community.
