In order to offer the best customer service to VA patients, physicians should take additional time with each patient to full discuss the diagnosed disorder, allow the patient to describe all concerns and feelings, and educate the patient on the side effects and importance of continuing their medication. Other effective measures include empowering the patients to advocate for themselves by keeping a symptom journal so that their illness and any medication side effects can be more thoroughly discussed at the next appointment.
