Strategic Planning Society Web Site: Term Paper

Additional reasons include tracking key authors who contribute to the journals and magazines on the site as well. The content is constantly changing and of high quality. What information was expected to be found and was not there it would be expected to find more analytical frameworks and constructs specifically focusing on how to apply the strategic planning concepts discussed.

One would expect to find for example an analysis of Dr. Michael Porters' Competitive Advantage of Nations' concepts and the use of his determinants of market and competitive demand, Porter (1990). In addition one would expect to find more analysis of the blue ocean strategy as others have done CRM Buyer (2005) as well.

Links from the site that are helpful

The site in general is well organized yet lacks links to external resources. As the site is somewhat myopic in this regard, the links to search engines for finding content in both publications the site advertises are useful. There are few links to external content sources.

Additional Notes Regarding the Site

The site is designed to provide quick access to highly targeted and strategic-level content for senior executives, and as a result there are few distractions in its construction. After exploring the site in detail...

The use of the subscription model is useful, yet there needs to be a trial program also created for the service itself, just as the company does with its magazine and journal. Finally, the site aims for a high level of credibility by only publishing biographies of the SPS' trustees and key managing directors, a clear sign the organization is expecting to interact only with comparable levels in client organizations.
Line Evaluation

This site is a useful resource for strategic planning initiatives in global organizations and the content is both continually updated and of very high quality. This is a site that will lead many professionals to learn more about strategic planning on the one hand, and assist students in learing this field on the other.
