This company contracts with local markets to supply this food to the retails at low prices. This essay will address many of the issues that are holding back this company from gaining an even wider share of competitive advantage within their given industry. The objectives of this strategic plan are to incorporate a more streamlined and efficient model of behavior that aligns itself with the greater organizational strategy. By identifying shortcomings and suggesting empirically tested ideas into the business functioning of this company it is expected to make these gains.

Functional Tactics

In any organization the tactical approach that one company may use must be aligned with the strategic aims of the company. Tactics are tools used to achieve these goals and can be used in concert with each other to gain their maximum benefits.

Seneca foods must stay true to fundamental practices that are tried and true in order to maintain a successful share of the market they are trying to dominate. All areas of business fundamentals should be examined for fundamental expression. In other words the different aspects of the company, such as operations, sales, marketing, leadership and logistics must all be fundamentally sound and proficient at their jobs in order for a greater organization to develop. Leadership at this company must address each sub-order of the organization to ensure that their fundamental skills, practices and behavior are in fact aligned with the greater strategy. This requires the management of these different branches to do their job and ensure tactical proficiency.

The action items are in turn the most important ideas that can be promoted throughout the company and serve as guiding ideas to show the correct action within the confines of its operations. A plan is nothing however without the promotion and continuing reinforcement of these ideas by the leadership branch of the company. Understanding that the ideals for success begin at the top run down, and then return back at the top through various feedback loops suggests what items are more actionable than others.
Milestones and Deadlines

Milestones and Deadlines for this strategic report must be developed in a backwards planning type fashion. Identifying when the major goals need to be accomplished, and then work backwards to find scheduling opportunities provides the best way to implement any strategic plan. In this case, the strategic plan should be evaluated at 6-month intervals with benchmark meetings held weekly and biweekly.

Tasks and Task Ownership

Remodeling the Seneca Foods organizational chart can help provide a visual reference to the strategic plan laid out in this essay. Compartmentalizing the tasks and objectives to the right the area of operation is critical in maintaining task and task ownership fidelity .
