Master of Science Degree
My purpose for seeking a Master of Science degree in Business Analytics is two-fold. Firstly, this degree will prove a great benefit to my military organization. With the knowledge and experience I acquire as part of this degree program I can increase my capacity to help my country defend itself from a world in which multiple threats exist. Secondly, this degree will prepare me to transition into a civilian career when I retire from the military. I will retire in the next six years, and will have a number of job opportunities at my disposal if I can successfully attain this advanced degree in business analytics.
In this respect, I believe this degree will provide the most immediate benefit to the United States military for which I serve. There are various aspects of analytics which are extremely apropos to the overall intelligence capabilities of the military today. Earning a degree in this subject matter will enable me to further the data science capabilities of my organization, as well as to identify new ways to utilize analytics capabilities to improve workflows and achieve organizational objectives. The knowledge gleaned from the aforementioned degree program can help me to increase the overall proficiency of the information technology capabilities of my organization. In the process it will prove of demonstrable value both to my unit and to the country as a whole.
Additionally, this degree will give me a plethora of career opportunities once I leave the military. I will become adept at handling various facets of IT from support systems to Artificial Intelligence, from data science to enterprise architecture. The career possibilities provided by this degree are only limited by my vision and imagination.
