Staffing Plan Essay

¶ … Citizens Property Insurance Corporation's staffing plan for the opening of the new customer care center project. The purpose of this plan is to explain how the number and type of staff needed was chosen, how recruiting was done, and how the hiring process met all legal needs. The Citizens Property Insurance Corporation will guarantee that the customer care center project has capable staff with the correct skills and experience to ensure call center success (Health and Human, 2007). Scope

This staffing plan recognizes the staff estimates and acquisition process used to manage the new facility. The plan describes the planning and acquisition of the staff, along with describing the responsibilities that will be assigned to each occupation type.

Staff Management Approach

The staff management process for the customer care center project consists of staff planning and staff acquisition.

Staff Estimates

The new customer care center will be assisting the Florida customers. For staff that does not require direct contact with customers through the telephone or internet, the staffing estimates will be as follows:

Human Resources: In order to ensure the most efficiency, there will be two human resources full time staff members. This will allow a confidence that the new hire process will constantly run smoothly.

Payroll Administration: There will be one payroll administrator that will be required to work full time, meeting the needs of all the employees.

Compliance Administration: There will be five compliance administrators, each of which will work forty varying hours around the clock. This allows every shift to offer a compliance administrator to report to in case of health or safety risks.

Technical Operations: There will be five technical operations staff members, one for each of four shifts for a twenty four hour period. A fully functional, constantly available technical staff will be an extremely important position...

Offering a twenty four hour customer service, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation will create four staff teams, each operating at regularly scheduled hours, and each rotating once per twenty four hour period. This team will begin with one hundred staff members. If necessary, this staffing number will increase depending on demands.
Non-Commission-Based Staff: The non-commission-based staff will be the second of the two most important jobs relating to customer relations. This staff will also be offered twenty four hours each day. Each of the four teams will rotate once per twenty four hour period. Because the demands for insurance purchases are much less than customer care service, the staff will be smaller. Each team will have roughly ten members, making a total staff team of forty.

In order to create the most well rounded team possible, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation will hire from a variety of demographics to open the newest call care center. Existing staff, new hires, and transfers from other insurance organizations will be sought out in the opening of our newest location.

2.2 Staffing Acquisition

To comply with affirmative action laws, which states that a company must "demonstrate good faith efforts to recruit individuals with disabilities, minorities, and veterans (J. Peck, personal communication, November 15, 2010)," Citizens Property Insurance Corporation will operate to constantly and consistently reach all types of demographics within the complete hiring process. This will be done by contacting specific agencies, government offices, and individuals (J. Peck, personal communication, November 15,…
