Software Development In Cloud Computing Research Proposal

¶ … Cloud Computing to Assist Multi-Site Software Companies The Use of DSS to Assist Multi-Site Software Companies

As technology becomes more and more globalized, so does the focus of computer technology and this includes the globalization of software development (Holsapple, 2006). As a result, the demands of requirements engineering in multi-site software development organizations are increasing. The task is becoming increasingly difficult to handle because of the different needs of the globalized customers, as well as the stakeholders (Brooks, 2007). The focus of this proposal will be to help outline a solution to this organizational difficulty, focusing on the concept of how a Cloud computing system, and how this system can help the organizations adapt to the necessary levels of industry in order to appease the needs of corporations and stakeholders in the ever-globalized industry of software sales and technology.

Statement of the Problem

The need for technology has become a necessity worldwide, and as this focus increases, the desire for the assistance of multi-site software development is crucial (Brooks, 2007). However, because of globalization and the increasing pulls of various necessities and desire on these companies, it can be difficult for them to adapt to all of the needs and requests locally, let alone meeting these demands globally. As such, these organizations need to be able to develop a strategy to focus their strategies and bring their demands to the forefront, while making sense of the requests they face on a daily, and even hourly, basis from their stakeholders (Taylor, 2009).

Solving the problem of focus, or bringing together the needs of stakeholders and of the corporation itself can provide for these corporations to continue their growth and financial success. While gaining monetary compensation is not currently a large issue in the field of the technological corporation, streamlining the necessity of requests becomes a must in order for the company to succeed (Nelson, 2009). If the company is not able to pull together its needs and requests, it can easily be pulled...

Multi-site software development is a very successful field in the current technological industry, and the companies that are able to streamline their focus will be able to contribute to their success (Many, 2008).
The researcher feels that a solution to this problem is the implementation of cloud computing to help meet the demands on multi-site software development. Cloud computing can be defined as:

The on-demand provision of computational resources (data, software) via a computer network rather than from a local computer. Users or clients can submit a task, such as word processing to the service provider, without actually possessing the software or hardware. The consumer's computer may contain very little software or data (perhaps a minimal operating system and web browser only), serving as little more than a display terminal connected to the Internet. Since the cloud is the underlying delivery mechanism, cloud based applications and services may support any type of software application or service in use today (Thompson, 2009, p 56).

Therefore, by using cloud computing the multi-level software company can help streamline its approach, meeting the individualized needs of its clients without making pricing difficult.

Research Questions

1. How can the implementation of cloud computing in a multi-site software organization assist with the success of the organization?

2. How can the implementation of a cloud computing multi-site software organization assess and address the needs and demands of the stakeholders?

3. In what ways can the implementation of a cloud computing multi-site software organization help to streamline the focus of the corporation?

Methodology

A variety of methods will be used to complete this research study. First and foremost will be the analysis of the literature focusing on cloud computing and the ways it has been implemented into various corporations.…
