In reflecting over my personal and professional life, I become overwhelmed with an attitude of gratitude that depicts my well-traveled road. When asked about my previous employers, current job, or perhaps the prospect of a new job, I remember… Remembering my early days in Chicago with gang violence and drug-infested neighborhoods still pricks my heart. I remember how my parents sacrificed everything for me so that I may have a better life, a better school, a better neighborhood, and a better environment that was conducive to my personal and professional growth. I remember, my days of playing sports wondering as to how my life would evolve and the person that I would become. I remember disappointment about not being accepted into my college of choice. Undoubtedly, such dismay was a double-edged sword. Of course, my parents wanted the best for me; however, without any post-secondary opportunities, I opt for the next best thing -- the Military. I remember the boot camp training that was the most tedious and structured regimen. How did I manage to survive this? A great deal of faith kept me, and it continues to keep me today! I remember all the training courses, drills, certifications, workshops, seminars, sleepless...

Oftentimes, I was perplexed as to the direction that I should go. Was the vision for my life truly clear and reflect my deep desires?
Over the course of my career, much experience was gained in supervision, logistics management, customer service, quality control/assurance, menu planning, inventory management, and budget management. Incidentally, these skills were transferable, thus allowing applicability to other potential career areas. However, have I traveled along a path of no return because a great deal of time has been investment into my career, thus far? Posed questions simply serve as a reminder for my life's purpose and direction. I remember leaving the Military to embark upon a new adventure with ANHAM that capitalized on my background and experiences, yielding further personal, professional, and now academic enrichments.

My story is one of reflection… Reevaluation of my life is necessary to ensure that I remember my path well-traveled. It is important for everyone to reflect on his or her learning and work experiences. Just experiencing an event is not enough, without taking time to review the experience and consider future implications, we are likely to repeat our actions in other future situations. If actions are unfavorable, mistakes can be costly. Hence, we should all remember
