The building of a great nation has always been dependent on the knowledge, skills, and experiences the citizenries have that contributed to the betterment of the place they belong to. But all of these of course would never have seen fruition without the education provided to those who were responsible for society and nation building. From the primary education years all the way to the graduate and post-graduate levels, ensuring the right kind of education based on the interest and level of the student or learner is important. This is critical in enabling a person to perform at his or her peak because the right education course or career fit has been provided. A school counselor or education guidance personnel has always been instrumental in providing insights, guidance, and advise to learners or potential learners from all educational levels. I have always been interested in working with learners and future learners in providing them the help they need in various problems and challenges faced during their formative educational years.
I graduated from the Georgia State University in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I am currently taking my Master's in the same field but of late, I found that I am more inclined in becoming a School Counselor because I firmly believe that my niche rests in working with students achieve their very best potentials in the school environment. I especially welcome the challenge that will be brought about by those students with learning difficulties and various social and emotional problems encountered whilst studying. I want to be their guide and mentor towards their road to recovery and be able to complete their education with flying colors.

I know I will be good at being a school counselor not only because of my natural interest in people but having experienced seeing people who were helpless and did not know where to look for help. I am talking also from experience because I was a refugee during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The experience have been an eye opener in terms of how people needed help during times of turmoil.
