He has since received numerous awards for this style, which faced a lot of opposition at first, but then came to be widely-accepted, and is more or less, the norm today. He sought to make design more interesting, and entertainment, exactly that, because these are not intended to be legible, but to pass a certain message across. There, hence, was no harm in leaving the rule and gridline format to book-writers, and passing messages across the design way -- through art.
