Project Organization Business Proposal

Project Organization The case involving Ozkites is showing how the company has the ability to seize upon new opportunities. However, to be able to take advantage of the increasing demand requires focusing on: the organizational structure and recruitment strategies. Together, these elements will highlight the challenges impacting the firm and how they can be effectively addressed in the future. This is the point that the company can meet this demand and increase their bottom line results in the process.

Organizational Structure

A matrix organizational structure is utilized when a company is taking a decentralized approach when it comes to their operation. This means that personnel and resources will work together as a cohesive unit. Yet, at the same time, different entities are working independently of one another. The basic idea is to utilize this approach to take advantage of everyone strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, there is a focus on arranging the various functions under numerous departments. They will work together to achieve the larger goals of the project and help to ensure that everyone is reaching key objectives in this process. (Galbraith 2008, pp. 75-84)

In the case of Ozkites, this will ensure that different divisions can work effectively with another. This is because select segments will be working on the project in Australia. While other teams, will be concentrating on other aspects in Germany. The biggest challenges will be ensuring that everybody is corroborating with each other when it comes to reaching the different...

This could make it challenging for ensuring that everyone is following the same basic format and structure of the project. Over the course of time, this will result in increased costs from the various teams not effectively working with each other. (Galbraith 2008, pp. 75-84)

However, in spite these drawbacks the matrix structure can be successfully implemented for Ozkites. This will occur by utilizing the balanced / functional model. Under this approach, a project manager is assigned to oversee the entire development. They will work in conjunction with functional managers. Their job is to ensure that specific aspects are completed at each phase, among various teams and inside different regions. This will increase the interdependencies of the Germany and Australia divisions by creating two entities. That are coordinating and working together. (Galbraith 2008, pp. 75-84)

At the same time, this approach is using economies of scale by decreasing the cost per unit through utilizing different geographical regions, to help with the design and manufacturing of the new kites. This will allow the organization to maintain its small size and have the ability to take advantage of the new ideas / key resources in each region. When this happens, Ozkite's…
