This e-commerce application involves the automation of the trading process between our company and the customers. Basically, it makes the buying and selling processes faster and more convenient for both the customers, the marketing department, and retail department of the company. Aside from the benefits it brings to the marketing phase of product selling, our e-commerce application also offers lesser tasks in terms of financial accounting. This is because the site includes automated process of computing the necessary amounts involved in a transaction.

The e-commerce application that we have conforms to the basic definition of what an e-commerce system is. As defined online,

From this definition, our e-commerce application is basically defined as a tool used for communication and business transactions that can be utilized over the Internet. Specifically, it is a medium for trading between a company and another party wherein transfer of money or goods is involved.

Part of the purpose that our e-commerce application serves is that it also works as a collaboration tool for marketing and sales agents. With the help of a functionality that saves all the transactions of customers as grouped by their respective sales agent, this system can easily provide information to marketing staffs. This is useful particularly to the task of developing marketing strategies.
