Reflection on becoming a nurse
Generally, there has been notion that a nurse has to be in white starched dress uniform and a cap. That uniform meant handmaiden or somebody who is to take orders; however it had also a meaning of purity, compassion and care. The days have come where only few persons are always found in this white and uniform and even the dresses. Majority of nurses have changed from wearing uniform as they perform their duties, it is no longer a must to wear such uniform, therefore the uniform no-longer defines a nurse.
Nursing impact lives by providing a job. It is a profession that one can do to earn a living. One works in a patient care setting such as home health organizations, long-term facilities, outpatient centers, and hospitals, by the end of the day a paycheck for the services offered is received. While working as a nurse you get the privilege of interacting with people from all walks of life and provide them with care. In your work you do things for different individuals that are able to impact their lives in a way that they remain to remember throughout their life.
