I believe that by resorting to a kind of universalized law for action, Kant has suppressed the very individuality that he claims to respect as the basis for his formulation of the Categorical Imperative. He, in effect, resorts to a kind of appeal to "Because I said so!" Kierkegaard, on the other hand approaches individuality with fear and trembling, but in doing so presents a guide for action that makes life infinitely more fun and fulfilling.
