Collection of Insurance Information

2. The collection of insurance info necessitates the utilization of various PHI identifiers necessitating compliance with HIPAA rules. PHI identifiers could be inclusive of, but they are not limited to; birth date, address, name, contact details, biometrics, social security number, etc.

Sale of Medical Devices/Equipment

1. Compliance with HIPAA rules is not a requirement in the sale of new medical devices (i.e. devices that have been sourced directly from the factory and have never been used before).

2. Compliance with HIPAA rules is required for all resold or secondhand medical devices and equipment.
