When the paramedics arrive, they must be able to determine if the individual is allergic to specific drugs and what amounts. This will help in establishing possible IVs that will be given to the patient on the way to the hospital and their possible reaction to specific medication. During this process, is when paramedics must be able to use Algebra in determining how much of a particular substance should be given to the patient. At the same time, they have to be able to rapidly convert between decimals and fractions. This is indicating how they have to make calculations between the English and Metric systems. These actions will have a dramatic impact on the ability of paramedics to be able to stabilize patients on the way to the hospital. This will determine if the person is able to survive the incident (based upon the calculations and observations of paramedics). (Monteclavo, 2011)
These elements are showing how both career fields will use Algebra and the Metric system to determine the amount of assistance that is needed. In the case of firefighters, this is based on: evaluating the reaction of the fire and how much of a particular resource is necessary. While paramedics, will use both areas to covert between the English and Metric systems. At the same time, they will use Algebra to decide the amounts of medication that are required for stabilizing the patient (which increases their chances of survival). (Monteclavo, 2011)

Sixth, I look at Alex's vocational personality. I do this by looking at her stories through with Holland's RIASEC hexagon. Using this tool I see that she most resembles the Enterprising type (Holland's Theory of Career Choice and You, 2009). She likes to be a leader, act with enthusiasm and enjoys being the center of attention. In Alex's case it appears that her choice of becoming an attorney and possibly getting
Math Anxiety I did not realize before that I had any feelings of anxiety related to the subject of mathematics. Math is not the most difficult subject although certainly it can be challenging. Yet, my writing indicates that I do feel math-related anxiety which therefore need to be better understood. From early on, I knew that math was not my favorite subject. For many people math is difficult, primarily because it
Math Concept Used in Law: The Spreadsheet Lawyers are business people who must keep their own businesses running. In addition, lawyers necessarily deal with many other professions. Finally, lawyers must be able to collect, examine and present evidence in a clear and commonly understood manner. Consequently, lawyers use a math concept that is readily adaptable across all those areas: the "Spreadsheet." Spreadsheet Use for a Lawyer's Own Business Two of the most important
I am particularly interested in the students who have challenges, either educationally or behaviorally. I feel that by working to develop new assessment tools it will be possible to further evaluate the skills and abilities for these students which may previously have been unavailable to us. I look forward to working with teachers, parents and students in order to formulate tools which will help students get the most out
Mathematics Concepts in Profession Mathematics Concepts in the Teaching Profession Mathematical concepts in professions My Profession and Applicable Math Concepts Mathematics is a branch of knowledge dealing with scientific notions of logical qualitative and quantitative arrangements. It extensively covers different aspects as well as having several subdivisions. It is a tool specially designed to handle and implement relative concepts, regardless of the kind of situational problem presented. Alongside the concepts, mathematics uses invented formulas
