My Community My Town
LOCATION
Los Angeles city my Community my Town is situated along the coastal plain sandwiched between a hilly peninsula and two mountain ranges. Under the mountain peaks are valleys, rivers, ocean beaches, valleys, and canyons. Los Angeles city was claimed in 1542 by Juan Rodrguez Cabrillo and established in 1781 under the Spanish governor. Later on, in April 1850, Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality. The city saw rapid development due to the oil discovery in the 1890s. This city was likely situated here due to the area's strategic location in terms of geographical features like water and mountains (Soja, 1986). Such features could enhance its security in terms of military operations. For instance, historically, Los Angeles was founded on a village of Yaanga that, according to the Spanish, translates to Poison oak place. Also, Juan Rodrguez Cabrillo claimed the site was a maritime explorer and was on an official military exploring expedition moving along the pacific coast.
PLACE
Los Angeles city is located in southern California in the United States. It is the second-largest city in population and metropolitan coming after the New York city in the United States. The city extends across the coastal plain between the Pacific Ocean and two mountain ranges. The larger Los Angeles County encompasses 90 incorporated cities like Long Beach, Pasadena, and Beverly Hills (Jerrett et al., 2005). The county also includes two of the Santa Catalina, San Clemente, and the Channel Islands; Mount Baldy, which is more than 2,330 square km of the desert; 3,062 meters high; and 120 km of seacoast.
Moreover, because the county and the city are geographically, economically, and culturally interwoven, any consideration of Los Angeles has to some level involve both entities. The population density around metropolitan fluctuates as high as 50,000 per square mile next to downtown Los Angeles to as low as one person per square mile within the mountainous areas. The city covers 1,207 square km with over 3,694,820, while Los AngelesLong BeachGlendale Metro Division has a population of 9,519,338, Los AngelesLong BeachGlendale Metro Division has 9,818,605; and Los AngelesLong BeachSanta Ana Metro Area, has 12,828,837.
On the other hand, Los Angeles has, with time, experienced a shift in racial and ethnic makeup. For example, during the Spanish rule in 1781, European ancestry was the minority, while African ancestry comprised 26 out of the 44 original settlers (Cassels et al. 2020). While from the late 19th century, whites became the dominant group due to the arrival of Midwesterners in Los Angeles. There are also European Jews who came in the early 20th century and late 19th century. Also, a Mexican race trooped as agricultural workers during the Mexican revolution in 1910 (Soja, 1986). Currently, Los Angeles has Hispanic, Asian, and Native American populations. African Americans also contribute to around one-tenth of the whole population.
Los Angeles, also known as the heart of California, has recently become one of the world-class cities. Its established tourism, commerce, agriculture, and industrial centers have enhanced this. For quite a long time, the city's climate has been benign, outdoor recreation, extensive leisure, and a special aura of celebrity accompanied by Hollywood (Radil et al. 2010). Angeleno's lifestyle depends on the automobile, favors informality, and idealizes the single-family dwelling. With notable distinctions, the skyline is horizontal rather than vertical.
Furthermore, Los Angeles has extraordinary diverse racial and ethnic groups due to immigration and the increasing gap between the poor and the rich. Nonetheless, the city also has perennial challenges like riots, fire outbreaks, smog, earthquakes, and gang warfare. However, the city also boasts...
…and electric cars, enhancement in mass transit to control pollution, smog is anticipated to reduce in the coming years. Also, Los Angeles has a huge fault line known as San Andreas Fault piercing through the area and is located just 53km from downtown Los Angeles.Otherwise, farming, urbanization, and Ranching activities within Los Angeles have significantly contributed to destroying the original fauna and flora; however, native trees like sycamores, oaks, willows, and maples are still plenty. For instance, the California poppy still blooms profusely some 130km north of the city, while the native chaparral covers the mountain. Furthermore, several shrubs, exotic flowers, and trees have been introduced. The typical palm trees currently available are exotics, as are pepper and eucalyptus trees. Additionally, species of animals abundant in the 1850s like black bears, pronghorn antelope, and grizzly are long gone. However, raccoons, deer, and coyotes are still common in Los Angeles (Rashed & Weeks, 2003). Also, in the hilly parts of Chatsworth, Tarzana, and Beverly Hills still live some protected species and a few nocturnal mountain lions.
MOVEMENT
Immigrants built Los Angeles and its neighborhoods. In 1769, Europeans headed by Gaspar de Portola and other missionaries first migrated into Los Angeles and camped along the Los Angeles River. Besides, in 1771, a group of Spaniards headed by Father Junipero Serra moved into the city and established San Gabriel Mission that Gabrielino Indians later inhabited (Giuliano & Small, 1991). The Pobladores from Mexico were brought to Los Angeles by Capt. Rivera y Moncada and later formed to establish a new pueblo.
Additionally, in the 1850s, the Indians, former slaves of African descent, Anglo Americans, and the Spanish-speaking Californios that had earlier migrated into Los Angeles were joined by settlers like Chinese, Mexicans, Germans, French, and Spaniards amongst others (Jerrett et al. 2005). Los Angeles continued to receive…

This began with the colonizers who positioned their missions in the places that the native congregated which was also about a day's travel. The way that the railroad system developed in the region also played a part with Los Angeles developing a unique suburban model with a train system that spanned many rural scenes. Instead of dividing the land up for separate uses, Los Angeles developed a mixed-use model that
This is her suffering. LUIS J. RODRIGUEZ, THE REPUBLIC OF EAST LA (2002) "Unfortunately, Rosalba endured many scary nights staying in dingy hotel rooms with other migrants, mostly women, in downtown Los Angeles. She not only didn't have a man to help but no obvious skills except what she learned on the rancho. She had to survive being cast into a peculiar universe of neon and noise. This was a place
Like Monte in Rodriguez's Pigeons, Lucia recognizes that immigrant Mexican men feel like failures is they cannot take care of their families once they arrive in America. The author uses this described tension related to income and support to show Lucia's need to be independent and depend on no man. In these seven passages, I found it interesting that each character maintained personality while focusing on a similar goal. Each
Mildred tries to imitate the economical management in her own family. Los Angeles There is a lot to marvel at when it comes to Los Angeles.
