Life Long Learning And The Growth Mentality Essay

Importance of Goals and Well-Being

In the past decade, my growth as a teacher has been considerable and multifaceted. I've cultivated stronger relationships with my students, learning how to better understand their individual needs and adapt my teaching strategies to meet those needs. My subject matter knowledge has deepened, not just through academic learning but through the real-world application of concepts in my classroom. I have embraced technology more and more in education, as I have been able to learn new tools that enhance the educative process for my students. I have also been able to learn how to use digital technology to help grow student engagement with the material that we are studying. Most importantly, I feel that I have grown emotionally, which is a huge step for me as a teacher: a lot of what I find helps in the classroom is the ability to create that emotional bond with students. It helps them to be inspired to want to learn, and it helps me to want to give 100% to every class. The empathy and patience I have developed over the years have definitely shaped me into a more compassionate educator, giving me the ability to create an environment that is more inclusive, more respectful, and more considerate of each student's unique perspective.

I do feel that I possess a growth mindset regarding my professional goals and aspirations. This is evident in my ongoing commitment to learning, as exemplified by my recent study of mental health awareness. I do recognize that I am far from perfect, but I am comfortable with this fact because I know that my journey as a teacher is one of constant growth and evolution.
