Leadership Qualities There Are Several Term Paper

Leadership Qualities

There are several leadership-qualities associated with being effective in the role of President of the United States. One of the most important of such qualities is vision. Having a clear vision based in fundamental ideals underlies all areas that require discrimination and right action on behalf of the President. A clear conception of vision and the ability to communicate this vision to the American population is the most important quality necessary for the leader of this country.

Without a clear and concise vision, the President is unable to effectively motivate the populace toward a common goal. Lack of vision leads to plans that do not seem well thought out, lack of clarity with regards to motives, and an inability to convince the public that decisions are being made in the interest of the common good. The current Presidency has been characterized by a distinct lack of vision, which has led to confusion, distrust, and a lack of public support for decisions made.

A current issue that has been problematic for the current President concerns foreign policy. The public has not been thoroughly convinced that the manner in which the United States has confronted and managed issues internationally is optimal. This is due in great part to a lack of vision on behalf of the president, or an inability to effectively communicate this vision to the public in order to gain confidence and support.

The next President will be an individual with strong ethics, who also has an in-depth understanding of the complex nature of international events and issues. This next President will demonstrate a developed, informed vision, which will serve as a foundational basis for all decisions regarding foreign and domestic policy. Furthermore, the president will be able to gain support, and effectively unite the public in their vision collectively.
