Karl Marx and ideology

Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels present the idea of the German ideology by relating to diverse concepts that influenced German thinking contemporary to them and that practically revolutionized the system as a result of people becoming confused with regard to attitudes they need to support. With German values up until that period having been significantly influenced by Hegelian theories, the fact that a series of controversial values pervaded the German system meant that people would start taking sides and that while some tried to find parallels to Hegel's thinking others adopted new ideas in an attempt to find explanations to problems that the German society faced at the time.

Both New and Old Hegalians experience trouble supporting their theories as a result of the fact that they fail to acknowledge their exact position as members of the social order. Marx and Engels want their readers to observe the difficulty with which people treat the idea of change. The two theorists apparently believe that individuals can fail to gain a complex understanding of reality as a result of the fact that they cling onto traditional ideas.

Marx and Engels use Hegel as a main tool to explain their method of thinking. By relating to individuals supporting the German philosopher's style of thinking, the two theorists want to provide readers with two different perspectives concerning the matter. It is practically as if their idea of German ideology is especially grim, taking into account that they feel that many individuals are limited in their understanding of reality because they constantly go back to older theories and believe that it would be wrong for them to ignore these respective theories. "They forget, however, that to these phrases they themselves are only opposing other phrases, and that they are in no way combating the real existing world when they are merely combating the phrases of this world." (Marx & Engels 4)

In their struggle to find ideas that would revolutionize the world German individuals who were either old or new Hegel theorists simply ignored concepts that were actually innovative in favor of simply revising ideas in the past. These people prefer to emphasize their concern in finding revolutionary ideas instead of actually working with ideas that are in disagreement with theories that they become accustomed to promoting. This makes it difficult and almost impossible for them to progress.

Marx and Engels discuss revolutionary ideas by bringing on Hegel and the effect of his theories on the masses. Their discussion makes it possible for readers to understand that while some people appear to be obsessed with innovative concepts, the fact that they hold on to ideas they grew up with means that they do not actually experience much progress.
