Getting on the ballot for the House of Representatives typically involves primary elections in most states, where major party candidates are automatically included. Minor party candidates follow their partys rules, while independent candidates self-nominate and must satisfy various state requirements to be included on the general election ballot (Election of Representatives, 2023).
