Industrial Or Organizational Psychology Issue Term Paper

I believe that I would have to point to prior accomplishments, as well, so this is not an assignment I would take directly after becoming a consultant, but one that I would grow to so I could perform it to the very best of my ability. I would measure my success by reassessing the job after a specific period of time, such as a year, to see what improvements came in the job satisfaction and production of the department, and if the employee turnover rate fell. Just as in the initial job analysis, I would interview current and former employees to discuss the management issues, and then assess the job and performance to see if those issues had cleared up. I would do a thorough assessment and present my findings to the administration, as well.

A good leader can motivate employees to do their best even during difficult or trying times, while a poor leader can create even more tension and stress in the workplace. Management is often one of the most ignored and overlooked aspects of an organization, as well, so organizational psychology can mean the difference between the life and death of an organization if it is used effectively. From the "I" perspective, this issue affected me directly because I had to work for a manager who was not people or management oriented, and so, it gave me the perspective I need to understand what makes a good manager and what does not make a good manager. I think this can help me in my career in organizational psychology, but it can also help me become a more effective leader, as well.
