Human-Robot InteractionThere is a problem with clarity in the question – I've been assigned a robot, and the question accepts that, but the question asks "for which you design your robot." The robot has already been designed, so the question is nonsensical. There is also the claim that terms in capital letters are defined in Looijie – this is also false. Those terms are used in that paper, and form the basis of it, but they are not explicitly defined in that paper. The instructor clearly is not very good at English and this is going to put the paper at risk because of it.
1. The main objective for which Sanbot designed the Elf appears to be for "Hi-level (sic) scenarios in the hospitality, retail and public service…" The sentence is not completed – Sanbot needs a copywriter in the worst way. There is no other information about what the robot actually does. My application will be to give this robot function, in this case in a supermarket. The Elf will be programmed to assist shoppers with basic questions about the location of goods or service areas within the store. It will do this by accessing both basic store layout information (i.e "where are the bathrooms?"), but also specific SKU information (i.e. "where are the cans of Spam?"). If a good is out of stock, the Elf will be able to tell the customer that as well.
The Elf is capable of voice interaction, and 3D dynamic perception, which allow it to interact with human shoppers and respond to 1-on-1 questions of a dynamic nature. The Elf's touchscreen can help shoppers to search for specific items, and then display the location of the item or shopping area (i.e. deli) on a map of the store.
2. A use case specifies a specific situation where the methods will be used to meet an objective (Looije , et al, 2017). A common use case would be a customer who wishes to find an item in the supermarket. We know that each supermarket...
A. Specify the main OBJECTIVE(S) for which you design your robot. This objective should be relevant to your application domain and it should be feasible using the robot assigned to you. Motivate your objective and argue why the robot assigned to you is suited to reach that objective. The objective I have in mind for “pepper” is to provide travel destination details to the customers who come to my travel agency
Final results reveal far better efficiency in the worksheets for sessions wherein the robot gazed away from, when compared with the session it gazed in the direction of the child, because the child had been entering the worksheets. This had been the situation particularly for the much more tough worksheet elements. These results emphasize the require for cautious execution of social robot conducts to prevent disadvantageous outcomes. Based on Herberg,
Before this research was conducted, it could have been possible that none of the identified factors would actually affect peoples' perceptions, or that people would have drastically different experiences based on distance, specific companion robot functions, and the type of behavior exhibited by the companion robots. It was only through experimentation, the next step in the scientific method, that answers to these questions were achieved. All experiments must control certain
Human and Machine Intelligence The similarities and differences between human and machine intelligence doesn't seem to be the most important issue. It seems clear that both have been shown to exist, though they have very fundamentally different characteristics. The issue now centers more on supremacy: Is one better, more authoritative than the other? And if so, does this influence whether a "superintelligence" (Bostrom, 2003) exists that takes us to the paradigm
As a result, it can be said that the workplace of the modern world has changed beyond recognition with the revolution brought by the technological advancements. The technological transformation in the last two decades has been drastic and this trend will continue for the next many decades as robots are increasing replacing jobs that require the engagement of repetitive, customized actions. There are a number of jobs that are at
Foucault (1981) suggested that modern social life is bound up with the rise of "disciplinary power," which could be controlled and regulated (Giddens, 1992). Foucault termed sexuality "an especially dense transfer point for relations of power," a point which can become a focus of social control. We might see internet sexuality as reflecting a change in the locus of power, where the internet has become a dense transfer medium for
