Family Background
Miss S. is an African-American who is 67 years old. She came to the United States at the age of 20 and currently performing the roles of housekeeping. Miss S. is married to Mr. S who is 69 years old, suffering from disability resulting from stroke. The two have five children: two girls and three boys. The older daughter is ailing thus the constant battles with colon cancer with metastasis. Members of the family are disturbed and require quality assistance and encouragement. According to the information from Miss S, the daughter is on acute rehab following the development of anaphylactic reaction resulting from the IV contrast dye during the CT scan of the abdomen. Miss S. is now extensive responsible for the two boys belong to her daughter. She is willing to corporate and offer valuable information in relation to her family. I decided to work with this family because of the interesting and sad situation they are experiencing. My project manager introduced me to the family. I discussed with Miss S. On my plans for the next few works in relation to her family and she agreed to participate.
Three prioritized nursing diagnosis
According to the assessment of the family's situation, the prioritized nursing diagnoses include smoking cessation, dietary education, and stress management or coping. These problems contribute towards the adverse situation of the family.
Goals and Objectives
This health education tool will aim to meet the following objectives in relation to its development and implementation in the case of Miss S's family
To identify the sources or causes of the prioritized diagnoses
To understand the components and elements of the three problems facing the family
To understand physiological, cognitive, and emotional effects of stress, smoking cessation, and dietary problems
To demonstrate negative and positive effects or aspects of smoking cessation, stress, and dietary concepts
To identify short-term and long-term remedies for the family's problems and situation
To adopt and implement relevant management procedures and processes towards the elimination or minimization of the family's problems
Watson theory of human caring in provision of framework for the Health Education Tool
According to the Watson's theory of human caring, the concept of caring starts with an individual before the decision to offer compassionate care to the other entities. Care starts from being in place, ready to interact and share, open to compassion, loving, and development of equanimity towards oneself before transformation to the second and third parties within the society or family context (Texto & Contexto, 2007). Like in the context of the Watson's theory of caring, this health education tool focuses on the development of healing environment to the family in question. The health education tool will also focus on the unknown concepts of life threatening sufferings in the form of the three problems (Huebner et al., 2000). Health education tool will engage the family in a quality teaching & learning experiences as an approaching of offering care and health education.
Steps in evaluation and implementation of Health Education Tool
The evaluation and implementation of the health education tool will adhere to the following steps or stages

This stage will focus on getting to know the family through organization and integration of interactive sessions with the family members. This stage is valuable in the determination and understanding of the values and cultural perspectives of the two parties.
