Gatsby's Greatness
The zeitgeist that The Great Gatsby was written in was extremely influential to F. Scott Fitzgerald's tale, which is undeniably American and an excellent example of the Lost Generation of writers with which he is typically associated with. Both written and set during the Roaring Twenties as the country still basked in its World War I victory, enjoying the care free years that preceded the Great Depression, the novel depicts a tainted, twisted love story involving a bootlegger, Jay Gatsby, his first true love, Daisy, and her husband, as it were. The story is narrated by Nick Carraway, Daisy's cousin and an inadvertent friend of Gatsby's due to his meeting with her.
The somewhat unusual courtship between Gatsby and Daisy is largely accentuated by a series of sprawling parties that the former has at his mansion. In many respects, this tale is about how the luxuries of money can supplant just about everything in the U.S. -- previous social standings, romantic failures, immigration -- except for true respect and, true friendship. Gatsby and Nick learn this lesson the hard way as during their flourishing romance a tragic encounter takes place that leaves a woman dead, and Gatsby is mistaken as the reason why. When the woman's husband comes to collect her revenge,...
Wearin' of the Green An Irish-American's Journey Margaret-Mary clutched her daughter's tiny hand. Watched with pride as the five-year-old waved the little Irish Flag in her other hand. It wasn't just that today she

In his works, he established that numbers are not relevant to music, and that music is based on perception of what one hears, not any mathematical equation. Descartes as well as Vincenzo Galilei (Galileo's father) both also discredited the music-to-math theories that formed the revolutionary basis for Pythagoras' music work, but not

Group Social Work: Nurturing Father's Program The group investigated for this paper is the Nurturing Father's Program.
