Blending and adapting the approaches
Despite the fact that there is a distinct typology between the five different types of qualitative approaches to research, it is not uncommon to blend these approaches in the real world of investigative study. What is critical to such hybridization is that it is done consciously rather than unconsciously and with deliberate design and intention. An excellent example of such a blended approach might occur with an ethnography, in which it is impossible to get a large enough sample of the study population to do a complete survey of the culture. Combining an ethnography format, which focuses on cultural variance, but using a narrative approach in which a handful of members of a particular culture are allowed to describe their experiences in a manner relatively unfettered by theory can be a useful window into little-studied populations. Also, this allows for a very specific focus (like the worldviews of Japanese-American women) that might not be possible in a more generalized ethnography.
Another possible blended approach might be combining the 'case study' method with a grounded theory approach. In the case study approach a...
Educational Leadership Qualitative research is an assortment of various approaches, which have differences and commonalities. In qualitative research, the truth is not considered as an objective but as a subjective reality where various individuals experience differently. The aim of qualitative research is to address any of the problems found in the society. Psychology, education, and sociology are the subjects in which qualitative research methods are used. Qualitative research methods attempt
Derivatives -- Perceptions of Value and Use Realistic & Empirical Research Approaches in Finance Empirical research (which originates from the positivist tradition) and qualitative research are sufficiently distinct in their philosophical grounding to ask very different types of research questions. Empirical research is a theory-building endeavor that seeks to add to theory by determining the degree to which the hypotheses in a study are true or false. Qualitative research does not begin
Mixed methods research design is popular in many research settings because it offers a set of advantages as well as a flexibility that cannot be matched by other available methods. This method combines some of the features from both quantitative and qualitative research methods to create unique methods that can integrate many theoretical or conceptual frameworks. This analysis will use a case study form of a mixed methods approach from

Generalized Anxiety Disorder General Anxiety Disorder Causes, Symptoms and Treatments A generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a condition whereby a person ends up experiencing more than just normal everyday anxiety and tension, even though there might not be any apparent or evident reasons for its occurrence. For the delayed-treatment group, significant improvement was shown after they received self-examination therapy. From this study, the LaTorre work and the work of Dia, it is reasonable to conclude that empowerment is conducive to better outcomes in those with generalized anxiety disorder. Dia (2001) noted that cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is now a respected and proven model of psychotherapy, as noted by a t ask force of the American Psychological Association.
