¶ … Dissemination of Project Findings The study intends to collect data in regards to any potential performance differences that can be found among online nurse practitioner students and their total class load. There will be a comparison of a baseline population of online nurse practitioner students and a population that takes more than one clinical class per quarter. The dependent variables that will be considered in the study include factors such as educational outcomes of grade point average, clinical performance, graduation rate, and pass rate on national certification exam. Achieving efficient and effective healthcare outcomes is a national priority and therefore this research and the insights that it may offer could potential appeal to a wide variety of different audiences. Therefore, creating a plan to disseminate the project's findings is an important consideration of the research.

There are various national level conferences that could represent a platform to quickly disseminate the study's findings to a broad population of academics and practitioners. One example would be the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) conference in Washington, DC, in February of 2017. The National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) will also be holding a conference that will host nurse practitioner educators...

Both of these national conferences represent ideal venues to quickly disseminate the research findings to a dedicated audience of educators and industry professionals. Besides national level conferences, there are also many opportunities to disseminate the project's findings on a local and regional level. Nearly anyone in the industry might find the project's findings to be relevant; especially students and educators.
Another aspect to the project's closure and disseminating knowledge will be to look for opportunities to use the findings that the project generates to secure funding to continue researching the topic. There are a plethora of different opportunities to secure extramural funding from organizations that have the resources to fund further research collaborative projects through the issuance of research grants. For example, the National Institutes for Health (NIH) have roughly in the neighborhood thirty million dollars annually that they can devote to extramural research projects. Furthermore, the NIH also has a division known as the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) that has a special office dedicated to managing funding opportunities and you can download a requests for applications (RFAs) as well as find program announcements directly from their…

Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) also publish a substantial amount of information about current and upcoming grants online. One of the benefits of browsing projects on these databases is that they also publish a list of current projects that are underway. This provides an interested party the ability to see the content and quality of current research endeavors which can be used for comparison or a benchmark. For example, if research is already being conducted similar to the current project's objectives, then the ability to find new niches in potential research opportunities within the same broad context exist and can be researched online. There are also other institutions that offer similar opportunities for extramural grants such as the Mayo Clinic and the Johnson Robert and Johnson Foundation who may have funding available for certain research interests.
