Financial Assistance Financial Aid Appeal At College Letter

Financial Aid Appeal

Dear Admissions Committee,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing this financial aid appeal with regards to my academic performance during the last term that I was enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and to provide an explanation of the extenuating circumstances that were detrimental to my performance. I would also like to outline how these events have been resolved and assure you of my commitment to improving my academic standing.

During the summer of 2021, my beloved grandmother fell ill, and her condition became progressively worse. I had originally planned to enroll at Central Piedmont Community College in the fall of that year to bring up my GPA, as advised by my academic advisor at UNCG. However, due to the seriousness of my grandmother's illness, I made the difficult decision to prioritize her care and support her during this challenging time.

Tragically, my grandmother passed away on January 24, 2022. Her loss deeply affected me, and I found that in my grief I could not return to my academic responsibilities. Understanding the importance of my education, I took on a job as a Security Officer in Charlotte, NC, to occupy my time...

…chance to prove my commitment, determination, and potential to succeed and I am prepared to put forth my utmost effort and dedication to ensure that my performance at UNCG exceeds expectations.

Thank you for your time and consideration of my appeal. I have enclosed supporting documentation, including a copy of my transcript from Central Piedmont Community College, to demonstrate my dedication to my studies. I eagerly look forward to the opportunity to return to UNCG and would be grateful for any assistance you can provide.

Should you require any further information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience. Thank…
