Of the 100 possible categorical descriptive word responses that the participants in Group 1 might have utilized there were 53 descriptive responses given in their recall of a childhood memory however, in Group 2 of the 100 possible categorical descriptive word responses that might have been utilized only 31 such responses were given by participants in the second group.
The results of this study have indicated that memory recall of a childhood event or other event by the individual is more likely when such recall of memory takes place in outside light rather than in a room that has darkened or muted light. This belief is based on the research findings in this study that memory recall in outside light (Group 1) was 22% higher than memory recall (Group 2) in a room where the light has been darkened or muted.
CONCLUSION
This study sought to ascertain what impact that light has on the individuals' memory recall of childhood events. Toward this end an investigation of light and its impact on memory recall has been assessed and findings show that outside light positively affects the memory recall of an individual as compared to the light in a room where light is effectively muted or darkened.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The implications of the findings in this study cross over occupational boundaries and even the boundaries existing academically in the study of light-specific impacts on the biological, physiological, psychological and physical aspects of the individual. Much more research is needed in order to better understand the specific benefits that exist in regards to light in both its' intensity...
