Education

Teachers take the most crucial role not only in developing the minds of the students, but also in keeping the students interested and motivated to learn. This is the very reason why teachers are perceived as the facilitators and the mediators of learning. Hence, the plan, processes and the very execution of the teacher's plan should always be focused on the students. It is important to understand the learning of a particular subgroup because this is considered as a very significant aspect of training and/or mentoring. Needless to say, effective facilitation of the school curriculum combined with the affective execution of other learning endeavors as part of the overall teaching achievement must be ensured consecutively so as to maintain successful learning undertaking for the students, particularly those who are in the elementary levels - the primary and initial step to higher learning. However, this is just one of the various and important parts of the entire learning process because there are other aspects to consider.

It is a common knowledge that teachers play a very important role to the development of the elementary student's mind and psychological state. Because of this, it is indeed a very important attribute for every teacher to know, not only the basics of teaching, not only the knowledge or information they are to provide with their students, but also the very process of effective teaching. Needless to say, to be an effective teacher for the elementary students, it is not enough that the teacher knows how to teach the subject tasked to him/her, but also he/she must learn to keep and maintain the power of enhancing the students' ability and skills through motivation. More so, it is strongly suggested that a teacher knows not only how to facilitate learning but he/she must also be extremely aware of the motivation processes that can be applied to the students. With motivation, there is a higher percentage guaranteeing that the elementary students would participate eagerly in the learning activities - theoretical or practical it may be; that the bright students will be encouraged to learn more and share more; that even the "less" intelligent ones can have optimistic views in studying making them more participative and less scared to voice out their questions and uncertainties regarding the lectures.

Aside from the motivation skills, the teachers must also know how to properly teach the elementary students with other subject matter outside the required school curriculum. These subject matters may involve, personal values, experiences and behaviors - all of which are important part of living - that the elementary students should start to acquire and learn. One concept that teachers may teach the elementary students is the idea of maintaining good interpersonal skills.

One of Aristotle's most common quotations concluded that, "Man is a social animal." Others have extended this by saying that, "Without society, man is nothing but animal." (Aristotle, 2006) True enough, different academic fields and even lay people agree on the clarity of this statement. In the study of people, it has been studied that being and belonging in a group provides many advantages to people. In everyday language, this is expressed with yet another saying that "two heads are better than one." Having said man's very nature to associate himself with other people all the more gives but rational explanation to why it is very important for the children, even during their elementary years in school, to develop their interpersonal skills. In different settings, excellent interpersonal skills have always led to excellent dyadic relationships and team dynamics, and therefore generating excellent outputs. As Hogan (2004) also articulated, our personalities determine how we can be leaders in our own right within the teams we belong to.

The elementary students - because of their young minds and fresh ideas - may need to be instructed how to deal with their personal needs as well as the needs of the people around them. they must learn how to interact people in a positive way. They must learn to understand the value of giving and sharing in the same way that they should learn how to communicate what they want and what they can give.
