The two articles I read talk about Donald Trump’s alleged incompetence. In essence, the articles paint the picture of a president who does not have a clue regarding the running of state affairs. As a matter of fact, one particular article, by Eric Posner, goes ahead to predict that Trump will most likely be removed from office on account of political incompetence before his term ends. Another author, Ezra Klein, is of the opinion that, in essence, Donald Trump is an authoritarian leader, but “his authoritarian instincts have been checked by his incompetence.” All in all, the five authors seem to be in agreement that the current president of the United States is hopelessly incompetent on matters regarding the running of the world’s largest economy. To sum it up, Max Boot, in a commentary on Chicago Tribune, remains optimistic that America as a country will outlast Trump’s incompetence. In his own words, Boot points out that “the United States will survive Trump, but we won’t be the same nation after him.”Donald Trump was elected on a platform of change, with people largely connecting with his message about ‘making America great again.’ However, his approach towards leadership has largely been wanting. I am of the opinion that the president’s main undoing has been an attempt...

It is instructive that he has spent almost his entire life running corporate entities – where he was the boss and his word was pretty much law. The problem is that democracies do not quite work that way. In a democracy, such as the U.S., the need for consultations, shared goals, give-and-take, etc., cannot be overstated.
It is important to note that while the president has demonstrated signs of incompetency since he took over the reins of power, complaining will not take us anywhere as a nation. It has been said, in the past, that complaining is never a strategy. It is either we decisively institute legal and constitutional measures of removing the president from office, or we embrace him as the chosen leader and give him a chance to deliver on his promises.

Words: 663 Length: 2 Document Type: Essay

The election of 2016 produced a shocking outcome in the eyes of most political analysts. As noted by Larry J. Sabato, there are many parallels between the election of 1948 and 2016. In 1948, Harry Truman, who was predicted to lose to Thomas E. Dewey, had a similar, populist “give ‘em hell” style to Donald Trump. Dewey’s supporters were similarly unenthusiastic as many of Clinton’s supporters, who backed her more
