¶ … Counseling Program
Thank you very sincerely for your interest in my application to enter graduate school. I currently hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. I can say with absolute assurance and confidence that I am a disciplined, dedicated person; I take great pride in the effort I put forth to complete any and all assignments, and to meet obligations.
Indeed, I have had substantial experience working as an accountant, and I carried out my duties competently and accurately. But for the most part, my experiences in that field were not professionally fulfilling.
What has been fulfilling, challenging, gratifying and motivating for me, however, is the work I have been doing with children who have special needs. Currently I am employed as a hands-on paraprofessional, serving disabled children at the elementary school level.
While attending college to receive my Bachelor's degree, I accepted a position as a substitute paraprofessional in an elementary school with District 75. It did not take long for me to realize, this was my calling. It was like I had caught lightning in a bottle, and I was far more eager to get to my workplace with the children, than I was to get to my classrooms on campus.
The children at that level of course are very dependent on their teachers, not only for basic instruction and leadership, but for that human spark that lights a student's fire of interest and sustains a student's self-confidence.
Every day I see in the bright eyes of the students that my presence and desire to make a difference in their lives is vitally effective. And meanwhile, I have read through your school's course guidelines as well as the detailed job description of what counselors are trained to do, and I am ready, emotionally, intellectually, and professionally, to launch my career in counseling.
Once again, thank you very kindly for your attention to my application.

The building of a great nation has always been dependent on the knowledge, skills, and experiences the citizenries have that contributed to the betterment of the place they belong to. But all of these of course would never have seen fruition without the education provided to
(McGannon, Carey and Dimmitt, 2005) To address this need in the field of school counseling, the CSCOR has developed the National Panel for School Counseling Evidence-Based Practice, which is composed of school counseling educators and practitioners who have been identified as experts in the field. However, from 2008 the number began to decrease slightly. The rate of increase in the number of children aging out of the United States foster care system from 1998 to 2007 is 71.7%. Whereas the rate declined by 0.71% in the year 2008. In the year 2009, there was again a decline of 0.33%. In the year 2010, the number of children aging out of foster care system declined
Moreover, maltreated children reveal their feelings and situations when a counselor engages them in group counseling. Younger children perform well with growth playgroups where older children profit from activity groupings and treatment-oriented groups. Groups counseling is essential for sexually abused children because it lowers their guilt, differentness and shame feelings. Group counseling also helps abused children to learn ways in which they can defend themselves from any form of abuse. Counseling
They are the ones who handle jobs that require expertise. Their job itself is difficult that not everybody can accept the responsibility. With this continuously growing number of addicts and/or substance-abused people, indeed, we need to have more and more credible substance abuse counselors to somehow alleviate this problem.
