Cognitive Behavior Therapy is a treatment procedure that bases treatment on the cause directly. It explains that it is the thoughts of the people that cause feelings of being ill, and other behaviors. The benefit of the treatment is that it helps change the way people think and feel better even when they are truly suffering from a certain condition. The case of Jessica is not any different from those that are solvable using the case conceptualization of the Cognitive Behavior Therapy model. The signs that indicate instance of cognitive behavior issues are velar entirely in the case conceptualization of Jessica. The problems and precipitating factors

From the time and circumstances surrounding her birth, Jessica Simpson indicates signs of a person that suffered significant biological developmental challenges, which are a contributing factor to the case scenario. From her developmental history, it indicates that her mother, at the time of birth was too young. Additionally, Jessica's birth was premature; thus, the possibility that her development did not ensue as it should have. She remained in the hospital initially, under the care of nurses, with the mother coming to visit occasionally. The immediate family learnt of her existence when she was two years old. This challenge of lacking and missing motherhood care and treatment from birth could trigger biological underdevelopment that causes her to perceive herself as inferior.

Additionally, her cognitive development may also be inferior; hence, the developmental issues associated with the cognitive self developed as she grew. Despite being spectacular in her studies, passing her exams to attain the paralegal status she holds, Jessica exhibits signs of cognitive underdevelopment, such as the fact that she fears that every person sees her as inferior. That is her personal perception, which is baseless, hence is only explicable using cognitive behavior aspect. Jessica fears and has confidence issues that contribute remarkably to the situation she is facing. This is a major factor in cognitive therapy behavior. Jessica does have a very low self-esteem, and this is a cognitive factor needs addressing to cater for her developmental recovery. It is not surprising that Jessica does not have a relationship as any young normal person of her age would be having. This draws from the aspect of affection and perception affection on her part. Her development in a home setting in which she had little support in terms of showing care. She did not get as much attention as she should have, considering that, her mother abandoned her in the care of nurse only three months after bearing her. This started her suffering in pursuit of care, as life events would be cruel enough to take her mother when she was at a very young age. Jessica lived under the services of child protective care for some time, and then later relocated to be with her aunt. Still in this home, although she received some form of support, she still did not develop, as she should have in dissipating affection. Therefore, it is urgent to address her affection life. The socio-cultural development progress of Jessica is also lacking. She did not have much experiences interacting with the world around her. For instance, at the time she graduated to attend regular school, she could not perform before the parents with the other students due to fear. Even as she lived with her aunt, the aunt criticized her lack of social skills and apparent way of dressing and appearance. This shows that she did not have the social development as expected, and the cultures of the community around her never helped her to mature to the next level of socio-cultural development. This affects her perception of the community and society around her.

This marked a beginning of her troubles. For instance, when she was only two years, the mother locked her in the car and went out drinking with friends and partying. The patrolling police saved Jessica. They took her to protective care for children. The mother of Jessica, despite being on the wrong argued with the police indicating how irresponsible she was. This is the first impression that Jessica did not relate well with people; hence, the fear and reservations that she exhibits against people. She developed poorly, as she even delayed in learning to speak. The life Jessica lived with her mother is not worth representing a family. The closest she got to a family was her aunt, who also had her misgivings towards Jessica. For instance, the aunt criticized her dressing and appearance instead of showing her how to dress. This was a negative factor in the family setting. However, after going to live with her uncle, she gained little exposure, which led to her starting to consider opening up to express her fears and seek help.
However, Jessica is a bright person, and she did not fail showing the fact as she did remarkably well in her education. She passed through the regular education, to the formal and later went ahead to do law. Therefore, she is a very knowledgeable person in terms of education. In the social aspect, she has difficulties living with people. She cannot coexist with people, as exemplified; by the way, she changes her working stations within a short period. Her development in the social limelight was of isolation and thus she never learnt to interact with people. She does not have the courage to face the world and its challenges, as she would like. Her social life never reflected anywhere in her historical development she remained stuck to work and reading. This denied her the opportunity to be social and to enjoy life accordingly.

The case conceptualization

The beliefs that Jessica exhibits portray her as being an underachiever. Despite the efforts of her uncle and her cousin and friend to make her involved, Jessica remained detached from the social world, portraying sings of being isolated. She turned her concentration to eating and life of solace. Her belief is that she does not have the ability to mingle freely and she is not worthy. The automatic thoughts in her head are playing out to the advantage of the situation while she continues to suffer and lose. For instance, there was a time she had an employment and worked only for a single day. She left the work in fear of that every person knew her and did not like her. This was a perception from own imaginations. Thus, it is clear that the personal automatic perceptions thoughts are keeping her form exploring the opportunities she has in life. The cognitive development issues in action, in Jessica's life, are remarkably playing to the schemas of the situation. The cognitive deficits are creating distortions in her thinking model, and this is influencing her personal development. She rarely participates in any activity socially involving. Any precipitating issues remarkably affect her behavior and conduct. The working hypothesis she welds keeps her on the check whenever he gets some work. However, due t her fears, she finds herself losing confidence with herself; thus, she ends leaving the job. She does not engage in any activity aggressively enough to push through with endurance. She has the technical training skills, but her deficit of self-esteem and confidence to explore is the key limitation to her success.

Intervention plans

In addressing the case of Jessica, the CBT will help address the psychological aspects that are contributing to her situation.
