Business Queendom Communication Assessment Communication Research Proposal

External communication in business involves marketing, advertising, customer relations, business negotiations and things dealing out of the business immediate environment. Both of these types of communication are essential for success (Communication Skills, 2007). It is very important to be able to listen as well as to talk. People need to be able to listen to internal as well has external communications. Making time to listen to what in house people are saying helps to unify the business organization as a two way street where everyone is on the same team. The same is true for organizations customers as well. Listening to what they have to say can help with business execution of products that the business or organization produces for consumer consumption. Poor communication in business often results in misunderstanding and mistrust on both sides of the business fence which can extend to both within and on the outside of a business (Communication Skills, 2007).

My current communication skills seem to sufficient in order for me to progress and advance in the business world. I have the ability to speak well as listen to what other people have to say. This is so very important so that everyone remains on the same page. I will want to continue to do just as I have been doing but with some refresher training. I don't believe that one can never know too much. Refresher training would allow me to hone in on my communication...

I have a hard time sometimes with wearing my emotions on my face. I have consciously tried to make an effort to better control my emotions and have more of a poker face. It is not always good to show everyone what you are thinking. This is especially true when you are involved in a conversation that you don't totally agree with. It is better to be able to keep things on neutral level. This way one can be assured that they are really listening to what the other person is saying. This helps to ensure that one completely understands what the other person is trying to communicate. Often a person can learn something that they didn't know or see something from another point-of-view, just by listening to what other people have to say. Being open minded and having good communication skills will allow a person to advance their way up the corporate ladder in no time at all.
