The results of the study indicated that individuals were less concerned about their weight following participation in the online program. Specifically, the 8-week, internet-based cognitive-behavioral intervention was found to significantly reduce concerns regarding shape and weight for a period of up to 2 years and decrease the risk for development of eating disorders among high-risk groups. The authors claimed that their study was the first of its kind to effectively demonstrate that there are means of preventing the onset of eating disorders in high-risk groups. References
