Balanced And Centered Work Life, Reaction Paper

These ideas and notions may seem more abstract than concrete. It can be a seemingly daunting task to stray from what I am used to, but I know that I must look at all aspects of my life as a system that works together as one unit. As I mentioned earlier, in order for other areas of my life to be on track my personal life must first be there. Working on my personal life diligently cannot help but to spill over into my work life. This will help to greatly improve my managerial and leadership abilities.

Once these abilities have been sharpened, I will be able to move an organization away from an old way of thinking to a systems thinking organization. Systems thinking involve looking at the whole organization as opposed to its individual components (Vaill, 1996). Even though organizations may be made up of separate entities, they still must work together as a whole in order to function properly.

If my personal life is managed properly, so will my work life. I now know that by taking control of my thoughts and being proactive regarding these thoughts allows me to have the ability and opportunity to influence those that I manage in a positive way. By doing so, those who are influence will have the knowledge to take what they have learned and improve their lives as well as the lives as others. Developing a sound mission statement has already opened the doors to allow me to live a principle centered life.
