Avoid The Use Of Jargon  Article Critique

Question 11: Methodology

The research design is not clearly identified. A reader has to dig just to see if they can find it. The data gathering instrument cannot be really described but is assumed that the information is gathered through research and possibly interviews. There was also no type of pilot study undertaken in the study.

Question 12: Data Analysis / results

The article does not mention anything about the data and statistical analysis which was undertaken? Reports from articles were used in order to come up with the findings. The significance of the findings was that American educational system and society as a whole has purported to launch initiatives that are in the best interest of the "public good" to secure the American public's support for these initiatives, while in reality the initiatives that are implemented often do just the opposite.

Question 13: Discussion

The finding is linked back to the statistical numbers and research from the articles and other sources. There were not any strength or limitations that were mentioned in the study. There were not any recommendations mentioned either.

Question 14: References

Most of the books, journals and other media alluded to in the study were accurately referenced but there were articles and books in the reference section that were not.
