VLs house in the living room

Good morning VL?

-I bend down next to VL on the couch to make eye contact

VL whats wrong?

I am still kneeling, awaiting eye contact

What blanket was it?

Can we call the company and see if they, have it?

I am looking at VL, who is looking at her mother

Maybe I can get you another one?

-I have now made eye contact with VL

I am looking at VLs mom.

Thats where she gets it from

-I pull out my phone and open the amazon app.

I press purchase

No answer. VL is sitting on the couch next to her mother with her head resting on her mother's lap.

I lost my blanket at the party VL is sat. She continues to lay down. She does not make eye contact.

Its the pink one that I always have. Someone took it.

VLS mother: No one took it. You left it inside the bounce house.

VL: Mommy did and they said it's not there.

VLs mother: She needs to be more careful with her stuff. It shouldnt have been outside anyway.

VL: But if I didnt bring it my baby would have been cold. You only bought one dress.

VLs mother: Stop now. Your dolls have plenty of dresses. You lost it and thats it. You have 10 other blankets.

VL: It was my only Cinderella blanket

VL is noticeably sad. She is rubbing her hands down her mother's legs. She continues to look down. No eye contact

From where, Amazon?

VL is looking at me. She is excited. She is now sitting up.

VLs mom and I laugh.

VLs mother; Shes too much

VL looks up. She then walks over to...

…is concerned.

In purchasing a new blanket for VL, I inadvertently rewarded negative behavior. The goal should have been to decrease the frequency of an undesirable behavior, i.e. VLs tendency to be careless with her stuff.

To ensure that VL takes greater care of her stuff, it would have been more effective to apply punishment. In essence, like reinforcement, punishment can work either by directly applying an unpleasant stimulus or by removing a potentially rewarding stimulus (Lattal and Chase, 2013, p. 197). In VLs case, I would be in favor of the application of an undesirable consequence for the loss of any of her items (the blanket in the present scenario).

-The unpleasant stimulus in this case would be refusal to replace the blanket for a specified period of time, i.e. one month. While the immediate replacement of a lost item could be seen as rewarding negative behavior, the delayed replacement of…

Once this has been done in a thorough and global manner, comparative studies can be conducted in order to assess any similarities among the historical threats to determine measures to take against potential future threats. Capelli and Moore (2011, p. 25) go a step further in suggesting that targeted research, not only on language, but on the security environment in general, will greatly assist in both predicting and preventing insider

As the individual will assume that this kind of behavior is appropriate given their ancestry and the way the reacted to different stimuli. (Plomin, 2008) Moreover, many individuals will have select attributes that are passed down from previous generations. This will determine if the person is susceptible to certain mental conditions (i.e. schizophrenia and depression). These factors will play an important part in deciding biochemical and genetic causes affecting the

Theoretical Perspectives on the Family and Ethnic Groups When the average viewer consumes media content delivered by major news networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, or their local affiliate stations, there is an unspoken expectation that the content being broadcast is objective and free of prejudice or bias. While the advent of opinionated news debate programs has resulted in an increased rate of editorializing by today's news networks, traditional hard news reporters

One could, for instance, examine the role that the authority structures of the Catholic Church have had in shaping the formation of societies and they way that they function. This form of analysis can also be extended to other religions - such as the role of power and conflict in a Muslim world and the role that religion plays in the coercive structures of many Middle Eastern societies. Theoretical Perspectives on the War

Anarchy is but one aspect of the Realist paradigm. Anarchy is the impetus for all other components of the Realist theory to come into play. Elements such as power, security dilemma's, balance of power, polarity and alliances and ultimately war are all outcrops of the existence of any real centralized power and an absence of true legitimacy in the form of a well established, respected, influential central government. Each
