United Nations Is there need for more incentives by the UN to countries that meet a certain level of Sustainable Development Goals?

The UN should go an extra mile and mobilize all possible resources to fund projects and support the countries that have successfully implemented the SDGS or shown commitment.

If nominated for the post of the next Secretary General, what kind of reforms would you initiate?

The need for reforming the UN management isn't exactly new. New secretary generals have reordered the way departments of the UN work. They have introduced new command lines and done restructuring. If elected the next secretary general, I will outsource all secretariat services. I will also push for fresh authority to change budgets and wind up programs without the need to consult the general assembly (GPF, 2012).

In addition, what initiatives would you undertake in order to make the SDGs more successful?

Sustainable strategies for development must be inclusive. The needs of the poor must be taken into consideration. Such action needs to be collaborative, ambitious and action oriented with due consideration to national circumstances. My initiatives include readjusting production patterns, price readjustments; promote the preservation of natural endowment, strengthen economic governance...

The role of technology cannot be ignored in the whole process. There will be need for economic and financial incentives for the creation and adoption of new technologies. Innovative reforms in policy are some of the possible changes (Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2013).
Of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which is the one that seems the most likely to be achieved? What about the least? Why?

To achieve equality between the genders and empower girls and women: This SDG appears to be the easiest to achieve. Reforms that target women for equal access to economic resources and even control and access to ownership of land and a range of other property and financial services, natural resources and inheritance, in accordance with the national laws, is already an ongoing effort by various stakeholders and is likely to be realized soon.

Make sure that there is affordable sustainable and reliable access to modern energy forms for everyone. This isn't so achievable. Most needs for energy target fossil fuels. There is really little chance that the needs can be reduced in the next 15 years.
