21st Century Education Challenge Education Term Paper

21st Century Education Challenge
Education has gone though vast changes in the last decade in a half,
possibly more in that small time period than the entire history before it.
With the creation and spread of the internet, new possibilities have been
created to further education. But with new technology comes new challenges
that must be met by educators in the 21st century. I will be challenged
with understanding, utilizing, and harnessing the new technology that has
necessary to use in the 21st century classroom.
The internet and the online medium of education has allowed for
education to advance in ways unforeseen before the 21st century. As an
educator, it is my responsibility to make use of this progress. I will
have to have a full understanding of the internet, the methods of research
it makes possible, and how to teach my students how to utilize the medium.
To do this, I will have to understand the internet and new technologies
myself. I must be able to identify its limitations, inaccuracies, and
other unforeseen dangers in addition to all the positive aspects.
Furthermore, I must be able to relay this information to students in a
classroom setting, and create innovative lessons and assignments to allow
the full use of the technology's potential. The challenge facing me is to
tackle the world of technology and bring it to the classroom because it
will be a necessary tool of education in the 21st century.
I will face new challenges in the 21st century which did not exist in
the 20th. I must teach students to utilize technology to further their
education. It is also important that students develop these skills because
they will be lifelong skills and important for their long-term goals in the
academic and professional world. As an educator with an eye towards the
future, I must prepare my students to no only meet the demands that new
technology has created, but also to maximize the potential that the
internet and other technology has to offer.
