Heres the dilemma on which you find yourself horned: Your organization has two primary policies in effect concerning use of the Internet.
First, use of sites with pornography or other such material is forbidden on company networks (legal liabilities and bad taste). This includes Massively Multi-Player and other on-line game sites (bandwidth issues) and other download and upload sites such as YouTube, etc., (security, liability AND bandwidth).
Second, use of the Internet is expected to involve company business but may also include a moderate amount of personal use so long as the time is limited and it does not interfere with work.
Over the past couple of years, a number of employees have accessed eBay in order to bid on items or check bids. After a few early reminders, these employees generally limit their eBaying to breaks and lunch hours one of those things a lot of folks enjoy with little grief for you sort of unofficial policy.
However, it has just come to your attention that at least two employees are operating very active eBay Store sites and a lot of it is being done from your network over your Internet access. One of the employees appears to be using his lunch hour to do all his uploading to eBay rather than his slow modem access at home.
Upon initial inquiry, it appears that both employees are making well over $1,000 a month from their eBay efforts and both consider it critical portions of their income since both have kids in college.
Hmmmm. Your job is to research the ethical areas involved, including possible legal issues, decide if we are dealing with formal or informal ethics and what repercussions there could be.
You need to brief management on this issue and make recommendations on what, if anything to do about it, as it pertains to the network and IT. Whether its bad business policy is something you can recommend but probably cant decide.
You must take positions on what in the case is unethical, if anything (is it good or bad business with little to do with ethics?).
Explain, decide and defend the following:
a. Is there one or more ethical issues involved in this case?
b. What type of ethics is involved here and where do they come from?
c. Are there violations of the ethical issues involved and/or how are these issues being treated?
d. Are there potential legal problems involved? How about the companys reputation? How about the individual reputation(s)?
e. If the case points out a bad/questionable behavior, is it worthy of correction and setting the correction in stone through policy? Why or why not? If not, what would you do and what do you think the consequences will be?
f. If a policy is needed (or more then one) write outlines of the policies and present and defend them.
g. Explain what steps you would take, once the policy is approved, to actually enforce it. Could the adoption of this policy result in the need for additional policy? What sort of training might you initiate?

Term Papers: APA format, body 5-8 pages, typewritten, double-spaced, font size no greater than 12, Normal/Times New Roman, at least three sources, bibliography. The topics will be on a current ETHICS issue, and may be about a company, a public person, or an industry. Please include a works cited sheet.

Need professional paper on the topic of why professional counselors continue to ignore and violate (1) the professional ethical standards set forth by the American Counseling Association, and (2)legal and ethical standards of state licensure boards even after several cases are heard each year and publically published. Professional counselors continue to behave in such a manner even when they know their licenses are at risk of being suspended and/or revoked. Also, this behavior continues to occur even though ethics are taught profusely in all counselor education programs.

convene a meeting of the Ethics Review Committee to review a client situation. The situation is straightforward: A partner has not been diligent in fulfilling contractual obligations for a business strategy engagement, which requires timely response because the final presentation to the client will occur in a matter of weeks. The partner did not encourage the consulting team to conduct some very critical market research and analysis of a new business opportunity for a long-standing client. Instead, data was used from a similar study done 3 years ago while the partner was employed by another consulting firm. This data, which overstates the current market opportunity, was shared with the client during an interim presentation along with a recommendation to consider a strategic move into the business market. The presentation could influence the client?s decision to invest significant resources into a new venture that is not as appealing strategically or financially now as it was in the past.

There are both ethical and potentially legal issues related to this matter. As the Ethics Review Committee assesses the situation and determines a plan of action, it must take into account the implications of the partner's actions for the client and for your company. There are currently few ethical policies to guide the group. If the issue becomes more widely known, business factors, inherent risks with certain responses to this situation, the possible loss of a key client, questions about firm?s credibility, and the potential negative affect to the firm?s upcoming IPO must also be considered.

Meet with the Ethics Review Committee to determine how this problem can be addressed through the following:

?Consider the relative values of proactive and reactive thinking in determining an action plan.
?Define critical steps in the decision-making process.
?Determine considerations in the decision-making process.
?Identify a creative, innovative, and optimal solution to the problem with appropriate justification.
?Outline the expected organizational impact.

Please use this essay to address the bullet points as they relate to the scenario given. Please do not spend time on theory.
I highly reccomend reading and citing Law, Business and Society, Ch 6, Tony McAdams with Nancy Leslund and Doasanjh Zucker. McGraw-Hill Irwin.
Please let me know if you cannot access it.

This must be cited both "in-text" and in refrence in APA style.

What is the difference between a Code of Ethics and a Code of Conduct?

How would you create a Code of Ethics for an organization? Usekey terms in our text to support your answer.

Lastly, search the Internet or our library for material that relates to the above questions and discuss how the article helped you understand the discussion question better? What did the article say, how does it relate to our discussion question. Cite your sources.

Community Capital Project. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

Central to the course is a required service learning component called the Community Capital Project. Experiential learning, through service, is considered essential for acquiring an understanding of the interdependent relationships of societal institutions. Goals of the service learning component include: enhanced sensitivity to humanitarian needs; enhanced awareness of how nonprofit, professional, and government organizations support their communities; increased appreciation of the issues and problems confronting nonprofit, professional, and government organizations; a better understanding of the relationships between public and governmental organizations, business, professional and nonprofit organizations; and an increase in social capital within the community or the profession.
Six to eight hours is the target time devoted to volunteering for this project.
A report of the student's service learning experience will be due and will be discussed the last day of class. The paper will consist of a double spaced 8 page report consisting of the following sections.
(1) Organization description and demographics. This should include the following kind of information: mission of the organization, budget and funding sources, staffing (e.g. full-time versus volunteers), clients served, location, and principal contacts. (Approx. 3 pages)
(2) Service Activity. This should be a brief description of the activity or service you provided.(Approx. 1 page)
(3) Reflections. How does you activity connect with various themes, readings, and topics of the course? How does your experience relate to the ethos of the Daniels College of Business? What personal reflections did the service produce? How did it fit to personal and professional development? Was this a valuable experience, or not? How can the organization improve in its efforts in serving the community? (Approx. 4 pages)

For the assignment:
PLEASE CITE ALL SOURCES. Use as many sources of the 8 sources as you deem necessary, if you think that you dont need them all then dont use 8 sources just to use what you need, minimum of 4 however.
(1) I have volunteered 8 hours of my time to an organization called World Vision. All of their information is available on their website: http://www.worldvision.org/ please leave the religious aspect of the organization to minimum, as we were instructed not to push for any special agendas in our papers! Please keep in mind that this is my fourth time volunteering for this organization.
(2) The American custom services have seized a huge amount of FAKE Nike shoes (Air Force one & Jordans). And they decided not destroying them, instead, they gave it to world vision to donate to needy people out of the united states. So our 8 activity consisted of un-boxing the individual shoes, and lumping 7-9 pairs in a bigger box (based on shoe size and gender), then labeling the box with the appropriate gender and range or sizes. It was four of us volunteering on one bench, none of the other people, however, known the other volunteers, so it was a great opportunity to meet new people. The four of us have successfully boxed and prepared 9400 pairs of shoes to be shipped to Africa and benefit the poor and needy in there.
(3) Service learning is important to all people, especially people like me who are preparing for a degree in finance, as it is a constant reminder of the others or people whom less fortunate and usually gets forgotten in our line of work.

Develop a process by which businesses can justify their business decisions based on ethical criteria. Create a list of questions that would guide organizations toward ethical decisions. Next, design a flow chart that a business could follow to determine if decisions they are making might create ethical challenges for them.

Your flow chart can be in a Word document using graphics, images, charts, and/or narrative; a PowerPoint presentation; an html document; Your presentation may be as simple as a bulleted list or as dynamic as a flash-created simulation. The critical component of this assignment is that each of the following elements in the scoring guide criteria are included. (I would prefer a bulleted list if possible)

Criteria
1. Questions are specific to ethical decision making processes and a logical decision making process is presented.
2. The process includes all appropriate components and the process is applicable to the situation provided.
3. The flowchart is organized sequentially and logically, is grammatically correct, free of errors, and accurately reflects any length requirements.
4. The flow chart completes a decision making cycle.
5. The flow chart includes feedback loops.

For this paper, compare the university's core values, listed above, with the 2002 Ethical
Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct of American Psychological Association (APA).

These principles can be found at the APA's web site (www.apa.org). You can use the search window to find any information on this. This paper should first present a summary of the APA's ethical principles (do not simply copy them; rather summarize them in your own words) and a summary of the university's values. Then, compare the two, identifying similarities and differences.

You may also use additional sources, such as journal articles (i.e. Johnson, W.B. & Campbell, C.D. (2002) Character and Fitness Requirements for Professional psychologists: Are There Any? Professional Psychology: Research and Practice 33(1),
46-53.), and scholarly books.

This paper should be 6 double-spaced pages. Include your references. Do not
Worry about which format you use (i.e. MLA or APA).

Hi there, could you please help me on my paper here, I am having the hardest time wrapping my head on what to do or write about. My paper is to include the following:

Draw upon the methods and concepts introduced in the course to conduct an ethics audit of the formal and informal systems in an organization. This may be your organization or any other you prefer. (Organization is Lowes Food)
1. Discuss whether the organization addresses ethical issues in a formal, systematic way as explained in the course material. If so, is it a one-size-fits-all approach, or has the organization customized an ethical culture to match its unique needs? Then identify the formal and informal systems that are in need of attention. Where is the culture out of alignment? (note that even in the best of systems there is always room for improvement)
2. Use the course content to design a change program to address weaknesses and to align formal and informal systems into a strong ethical culture.
3. Discuss your plan's possible effects on the organization including the possible reactions from employees.

Thank you so much for all your help.

Ethics and the Auditor Looking

State what you agree or disagree with in the below writing and try to provide additional discussion or points of interest

Ethics and the Auditor
In the post 2001 accounting scandal world (involving Enron and WorldCom) it is imperative that auditors have a strong code of ethics and moral compass. Auditors are providing a valuable service to the greater good with their audit of financial statements. Auditors must act in the best interest of financial statement users, the investors. The investors and potential investors want an accurate portrayal of how a company looks on their financial statements. Unfortunately the investors of Enron and WorldCom were not given a true picture of these companies and paid the price by losing their money. Luckily after these fraudulent actions of these and other companies the Sarbanes-Oxley Act created the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, or PCAOB. The PCAOB developed standards for the public accounting firms including ethical standards for the firms to follow. The PCAOB also oversees the work of public accounting firms who perform audits of financial statements. The PCAOB was created to ensure the independence and integrity of the accounting profession.
What is ethical behavior?
Behavior that produces the greatest good
Behavior that conforms to moral rules and principles (Louwers, Ramsay, Sinason, Strawser & Thibodeau, 2011)
A main purpose of ethics is to guide the actions of decision makers (Louwers & al, 2011, 565). A person can use ethics as a guide to aid them with decision making. In life sometimes there are decisions that are very difficult to make with no set right or wrong answer. A person must decide how to benefit the most people with that decision. It would be nice if the decision maker had a great moral compass and a strong code of ethics. As evidenced by the accounting scandals the chief officers and accountants lacked a moral compass and a strong code of ethics. Their poor decisions affected many people and cost them a great deal including their freedom and money.

There are faxes for this order.

i need to read the following article and provide a reaction.
the book we are using in class is the following

Driscoll, Dawn-Marie and Hoffman, W. Michael. Ethics Matters: How to Implement Values-Driven Management. ISBN # 0-9675514-0-4

here I'm copying the guidelines and adding the course material

Read the Wall Street Journal article, ?Does Being Ethical Pay?? at:
http://online.wsj.com/article_email/SB121018735490274425-lMyQjAxMDI4MTEwMjExODI3Wj.html

This article represents recent research on social responsibility and whether it is a good investment for organizations.

In a 1-2 page paper, provide your reaction to this article based on course content so far. Be sure to include any insights, questions, observations, or your own experiences that are relevant

1)Read the Encyclopedia of Ethical Failure. Select three of the violations discussed in the document. Explain the violation, including its US Code, use examples from your own career or the document, and discuss the possible fines / imprisonment for the violation.

2) You are the new ?ethics coordinator? for your organization. Today is your first day of presenting the ethics training. Seventy-five really bored and angry people are sitting in front of you. What will you say to this group of reluctant trainees about the importance of ethics ?
